Silent Hill 2 Remake Website May Hint at New Game Versions

With the Silent Hill 2 remake's PS5 exclusivity coming to an end on October 8, the game's website was now found to incorporate possible hints of additional ports being on the horizon. As spotted by Reddit user PracticalSubstance99, the "Buy Now" section of the developer's landing page for the game still lists only Steam and the PlayStation Store under platforms, but its layout incorporates four columns in total. The two extra columns aren't immediately visible in the browser because they don't contain any text right now, being populated by one non-breaking space—" "—each. They may be placeholders for the long-rumored Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 versions of the Silent Hill 2 remake.

The Best War Games was able to independently verify the newly spotted layout quirks. Anyone can do so by bringing up developer tools with the SH2 site open in any modern browser and using the inspect element feature. According to cached site data reviewed by The Best War Games, the four-column layout is not a new addition to the landing page. The very first version of the website, which went live immediately following the late 2022 announcement of the Silent Hill 2 remake and its timed PS5 console exclusivity, had already included the two extra columns, but they were undiscovered until now.

Silent Hill 2 Remake May Be the Series' Final Timed Console Exclusive in a While

Although Konami has yet to confirm the game for any console beyond the PS5, the Japanese publisher previously emphasized that its timed exclusivity deal with Sony lasts only 12 months. The move signaled plans to expand the game’s availability later. In recent years, Konami has shown signs of moving away from exclusivity agreements, most recently exemplified by Silent Hill f launching simultaneously across multiple platforms in late September 2025. The Silent Hill 2 remake could hence end up being the series' final timed console exclusive in a while. Its additional ports could be announced as early as October 8, 2025, when its PS5 console exclusivity is scheduled to end.

Two other franchise entries are currently known to be in development: Screen Burn's Silent Hill: Townfall and Bloober Team's Silent Hill 1 remake. No specific platforms have yet been confirmed for either project. Townfall is expected to be the first to hit the market—possibly as early as late 2026, seeing how it's been in the works since at least 2021—but it doesn't yet have a firm release date or window.
