Silent Hill f takes place in 1960s Japan, a shift from the American backdrop of the original games. Players will follow the story of Silent Hill f protagonist Shimizu Hinako, a teenager living in fictional Ebisugaoka, who sees her town fall silent into a thick fog. Puzzles and horrific monsters are waiting for Hinako at every turn as she tries to navigate the mysterious fog and its psychological effects. Silent Hill f is the first new main series entry since the 2012 release of Silent Hill Downpour.

Silent Hill f Copies Appear Before Street Date

A Resetera user named Rod posted a warning to Silent Hill f fans that physical copies of the game have been found in the wild. Players who are trying to avoid all spoilers should navigate message boards and YouTube carefully until the game is released officially on September 25. While the Deluxe Edition of Silent Hill f will release on September 23, physical copies of the base game out in the world means three extra days that fans may need to avoid game spoilers.

Some fans of the Silent Hill series are concerned about the action-based focus of Silent Hill f, so having copies in the wild may help players on the fence sway their game-buying decisions. Konami recently announced its Tokyo Game Show lineup to include Silent Hill f, providing fans with an immersive puzzle-solving experience at the Silent Hill f: Abandoned Items Exhibition. A special stage will be held in person and online streaming on September 28, 2025, where the development team will be on hand to talk to fans. The special stage will also feature live gameplay commentary.
