Suzie Yeung Confirmed as the Voice of Silent Hill f Protagonist

In the lead-up to its release, Silent Hill f was treated to another trailer, which premiered during Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live. The three-minute video confirms Suzie Yeung as the voice of protagonist Hinako Shimizu in the English version of the game. The Boston-born actress was recently part of the Persona 3 Reload cast, having played Fuuka Yamahishi. She also lent her voice to Yuffie Kisaragi in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Konatsu Kato will voice Hinako in the Japanese version of the game.

Gamescom 2025 Trailer Reinforces Silent Hill f Themes and Imagery

The Gamescom 2025 trailer has also revealed a few more glimpses of Silent Hill f's story and setting. Among other things, the promo video reinforces the red flower motif and plays up its connection to the decay that Hinako witnesses throughout her hometown of Ebisugaoka. It also expands on the fox imagery that prior marketing materials had already teased, revealing a mysterious figure in a fox mask who claims to be helping Hinako at the beginning of the game's story.

Silent Hill f May Turn Out To Be a Ghost Story

The masked character says he is acting in return for Hinako saving him, after which she "laid claim" to his soul. He hence vows to save Hinako’s soul by "claiming the life" of her "old self." The true meaning of this statement remains unclear, though it appears connected to a crime scene involving multiple victims shown at the start of the trailer. One currently popular fan theory suggests that Hinako is the sole survivor of a suicide pact, which could explain why one of her friends calls her a "traitor" in an earlier Silent Hill f trailer. While the masked man's cryptic monologue doesn’t rule out this theory, it raises questions about whether Hinako truly survived the ordeal. The game could still turn out to be a ghost story starring the said ghost.

You have saved my life... And laid claim to my soul. In turn, I shall save your soul by claiming the life of your old self.

In addition to the newly premiered trailer, Gamescom 2025 is set to yield some more information about the upcoming title on August 21. That's the date when a live interview with Silent Hill f producer Motoi Okamoto and director Al Yang will be live-streamed during Xbox's Gamescom 2025 showfloor broadcast.
