Bell in the Beasts is a main quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and without completing it, players will be unable to fast travel through Pharloom. Players can use the Ventrica Stations, but it's better to complete this mission before progressing further into the story. This is because completing the quest rewards the player with a great ability, which makes fast travel much easier than it already is. This guide offers information on the quest and how to beat the Bell-Eater boss in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Beast in the Bells Quest Guide in Silksong
Accessing the quest requires you to first reach the third act in the game. After this, you can descend to Songclave, where you will have to talk to a few NPCs, and can then make your way down to the Grand Bellway, where the Bell Beast can arrive once you call it. The Ventrica Station at the First Shrine will be blocked from the other side, so if you want to go to the Grand Bellway without walking there, you can go to High Halls or Memorium and take the Station from there.
Once you arrive at the Grand Bellway and call out to the Bell Beast, you won't get any response, and a creature will pop out and let out a scream. You will get a new objective tasking you with descending into the bellway to defeat the creature. Once you are ready, head down to come face-to-face with the Bell-Eater.
How to Beat Bell Eater in Silksong
Thankfully, there is a bench right next to the hole where you drop to the Bell-Eater boss fight, so the runback is not there at all. Once the fight starts, you will notice that the boss only takes damage on its face and rear. The rest of its body has a hardened shell around it, meaning you do not need to waste your time hitting that.
The Bell-Eater has a habit of popping its head out to spit red goop and going back into the ground. The second attack is where it expands the boss arena and starts to move around like a centipede on the upper path and below you as well. When the boss is below you, you have to jump and float while avoiding the bells that are falling from above.
In the second phase, the boss will push out its head and the rear when it comes out, so you will have two body parts to deal damage to, but also have to be careful as both those parts spit out the goop. Good tools to have are
Cogfly,
Conchcutter, and especially
Voltvessels. The Voltvessels can be planted on the ground to release a column of energy and deal damage to the boss.
Be sure to equip the
Pollip Pouch so that you have Venom on your tools and have
Quick Sling to make the fight go faster. Magnetite Dice can also help to avoid damage from hits, but the chances are very low of that.
Rewards for Defeating Bell Eater in Silksong
After defeating the boss, you will get the Beastling Call ability. You can perform this action by pressing the up button with the Needolin button, which is Triangle or Y on your controller. This ability allows you to spawn the beastlings anywhere on the map and take you back to the last Bellway Station you interacted with. There are a few locations where they cannot appear, like on top of platforms, ledges, inside the Abyss, and more. Despite this, the ability is amazing and can make exploration for late-game stuff much easier to do.
