All Spool Fragment Locations in Silksong

There are 18 Spool Fragments in Hollow Knight: Silksong, and players who want to maximize the amount of Silk that Hornet can carry will need to find them all. Additionally, finding all 18 Spool Fragments is a requirement for earning the Extended achievement. This gives players an additional reason to collect every Spool Fragment in Silksong, and this guide is here to assist with that undertaking.

While many Spool Fragments can be collected without using all of Hornet's abilities, it is recommended that players unlock Cling Grip, Clawline, and the Faydown Cloak before making a concerted effort to claim all these collectibles. Additionally, it is recommended that players unlock all area maps in Silksong before going after Spool Fragments, as that will make finding them much easier.

Bone Bottom Spool Fragments in Silksong

Spool Fragment #1

The first Spool Fragment is in an alcove above Bone Bottom. To reach it, players should follow the path shown on the preceding map, briefly passing through the left side of the Marrow, and break through the wall that they find at the marked position.

Weavenest Alta Spool Fragments in Silksong

After unlocking Needolin, players should use this ability to open the locked gate on the right side of the Mosso Grotto. Weavenest Alta is beyond that gate, and the preceding map shows the route to the Spool Fragment that is in the area.

Deep Docks Spool Fragments in Silksong

Follow the path shown in the preceding map to reach the first Spool Fragment in Deep Docks, which is at the top of a room with a floor made of embers.

Spool Fragment #4

Start by obtaining one of the Simple Keys in Silksong, and then use it to unlock the door in Deep Docks. Traverse the area beyond that door, following the route shown on the preceding map, to reach a Spool Fragment.

Players will encounter a door along this route that can only be opened with Silksong's Clawline ability.

There is a Spool Fragment in a high alcove in Greymoor, and players can use the route shown on the preceding map to reach it.

Players can purchase a Spool Fragment from Grindle in the Blasted Steps. It costs 680 Rosaries.

The Underworks' first Spool Fragment is in a room just beneath the area's elevator.

Spool Fragment #15

The Underworks' second Spool Fragment is on the right side of the area, though getting there can be a bit tricky. Indeed, the path to this collectible is fairly long, requiring players to pass through the Cogwork Core and the Whispering Vaults. This path, which can start at Songclave, is shown on the preceding map, and the Spool Fragment is in an alcove at the bottom of the final chute.

Whiteward Spool Fragments in Silksong

This Spool Fragment is at the bottom of the elevator chute in Whiteward. To reach it, players must get under the elevator, and here is how that is done:

Ride the elevator to the bottom.
Follow the path shown on the preceding map to get back to the top of the chute without using the elevator.
Stand on the button to activate the elevator, quickly fall into the chute, and move onto a path at the chute's midpoint, allowing the elevator to pass.
Fall to the bottom of the chute to claim the Spool Fragment.
