The more comical elements of the sequel were also highlighted, as players reminisced about toppling cows to obtain milkshakes and agreed a remake with this tone would be exciting, especially with modern graphics to enhance it.
2025 is shaping up to be a memorable year for The Sims franchise, as the long-running series is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. Adding to the previously hosted 25-hour livestream, new expansion packs, and a base update to The Sims 4 that added over 70 new items, there may be one big surprise waiting to be revealed. Project Rene is thought to be a more multiplayer-focused entry in the IP, previously announced back in 2022, and the franchise’s commendable anniversary year could be the perfect time to lift the veil.
