The Sims 4: How To Complete The Barbie Legacy Challenge
The Barbie Legacy Challenge tasks Sims 4 players with guiding multiple Barbies along the path to success; here's how this can be done.
To complete the 100 Baby Challenge in The Sims 4, players will have to create a matriarch Sim and have 100 babies, all with different Sims. Once the mother passes away, the youngest child is the next matriarch. It will require a lot of time and patience, so here are some tips to help complete the challenge.
Updated August 2, 2024 by Ashely Claudino: Even though the 100 Baby Challenge has been around for years, it continues to be one of the most popular Sims 4 challenges. As time goes by and more DLC comes out for the game, fans come up with more creative ways to successfully get through the challenge. This list has been updated with a couple more tips only possible due to free base game updates and the Lovestruck expansion pack.
1 Pick Good Traits for the Matriarch
The Matriarch Is The Original Sim Who Starts The Challenge
Players can choose the original Sim's Traits to get a head start. The Sims 4 Romantic trait will certainly come in handy, especially since the Sim needs to Flirt to unlock the Try for Baby option. Self-Assured is another good trait as it will give them random boosts of confidence.
This will help when they're telling a joke or making bold romantic advances. Family-Oriented and Childish traits can help level up their Parenting Skill faster and fill up their Fun Need faster.
2 Aspirations for the Matriarch
Aspirations Add an Extra Trait
In Create-A-Sim (CAS), after deciding the personality traits, players can now pick an Aspiration for their matriarch. Every Aspiration has a bonus trait. Choosing the Romantic aspiration grants players the Alluring trait, which helps these Sims succeed at romantic interactions more than others.
The aspirations in the Family category grant Sims the Domestic bonus trait. This trait helps players build their family relationships faster, and as a result, Sim's children are more likely to listen to them.
3 Useful Lot Traits
Lot Traits Have Special Effects on Sims
In Build/Buy Mode, gamers can set their lot's traits, and Sims 4 lots can have up to three traits. According to the 100 Baby Challenge rules, players can pick the traits of the lot they're going to live in. However, if the house originally had traits, then Simmers aren't allowed to change them.
The best Traits that will immensely help with this challenge are:
- Good Schools: Boost school performance and give a Confident Moodlet.
- On Ley Line: Sims are more likely to have Twins than others.
- Romantic Aura: Boost Romantic Interactions.
4 Purchase a Residential Rental Lot
Potential Donor Sims Can Stay on the Same Lot
The Sims 4's For Rent expansion pack allows players to keep multiple households on the same lot. While the donor Sims aren't allowed to contribute to the household, players can get a head start on recruiting them by purchasing a Residential Lot and filling in its vacancies. This way, they have quick access to flirt and get pregnant.
Players can also move their Young Adult children into the same Residential Lot. There's a chance they will hang around more often to assist with childcare. Players can increase this likelihood by giving their Young Adult children a key to their home when they move out, so they can come and go as they please.
5 Live in a Tiny Home
Small, Tiny, and Micro Homes Have Bonuses
Players with the Tiny Living Stuff Pack can live in small, tiny, and micro homes. Each tiny home tier has several bonuses, including cheaper bills, double Skill gain, faster Need increase, easy relationship gain, and even quicker gardening. The pack also has several items that make living in a tight space easier, such as a Murphy Bed and entertainment center with shelves and a built-in TV.
Murphy Beds are notorious for malfunctioning and potentially killing Sims, so tread carefully when using one.
All Sims benefit from living in a tiny home, but the best thing is the relationship gain boost. Players can spend less time flirting and talking to Sims when they are interacting inside the tiny home and get straight to the baby-making business.
6 Summon Bonehilda to Help
Bonehilda is a Temporary Maid, Babysitter, and Cook in One
Those with The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff get access to a classic NPC in The Sims series, Bonehilda. Bonehilda is a deceased Sim who takes on the form of a skeleton maid.
Players can summon Bonehilda in The Sims 4 if they have a Level 3 of the Medium Skill. Bonehilda will autonomously assist around the house for a temporary amount of time. She will clean, repair items, and assist children with their homework. Players can even talk to Bonehilda and befriend her to increase their Social Need.
7 Keep a Young Adult Sim Around
Young Adults Help with Childcare
The 100 Baby Challenge states that once the teen is an A student, they can age up and move out of the house. However, if players are struggling with raising six children and their matriarch is heavily pregnant, they can keep the Young Adult until the baby is born.
The Sims 4: 9 Tips For Parenting
Parenting can be a difficult thing in The Sims 4. With these helpful tips, however, players are sure to do a great job.
Young Adults can help with basic chores like cooking and cleaning while the mother sleeps or works. Having an extra hand to help around the house is better than forcing a Sim with low Needs to do them.
8 Accept Stay-Overs
Stay-Over Guests May Assist with Babies
Players with the Growing Together Expansion pack can take advantage of Stay-Overs. Infants require a lot of hands-on work, and until there are any Teens or Young Adults in the family, the matriarch will have to manage them on her own. However, she can invite or accept guests for Stay-Overs.
During Stay-Overs NPC Sims will come and temporarily stay the night. While it is against the rules to hire a Nanny, Stay-Over guests can help out with the Infants while they are there. Players can not encourage them to help, though, and must ask them to relax.
9 Buy A Wabbit Tablet
Wabbit Tablets Increase Toddler Skills Easily
At the start of the challenge, it might be difficult to buy anything other than the bare necessities. But, if Simmers can spare a few Simoleons, they can buy the Wabbit Tablet. It costs 500 Simoleons and will help Toddlers level up four different Skills:
- Communication
- Imagination
- Movement
- Thinking
Players don't have to buy different objects for every Skill with the Wabbit Tablet. Simmers can use free methods to level up the Toddlers’ Skills until they have enough money to buy the tablet from Build Mode. For example, using Flashcards to level up Thinking and dancing to a song on the radio to level up Movement.
10 Utilize Clubs
Create Clubs for Potential Donors, Children, and Teens
The City Living Expansion Pack includes an underrated feature known as Clubs. The game has several pre-made Clubs, but players can also make their own to fit their needs. Clubs can be made using gender, traits, careers, and more as requirements.
For the 100 Baby Challenge, players can put their potential donors in a club and set the activities to things such as Be Romantic and WooHoo. Clubs are also a great way to get social and skill boosts for Child and Teen Sims to help them with their grades and development.
