It seems that a Sims 4 bug has made it so some Sims are now experiencing issues with being able to afford to have deep thoughts. The Sims franchise has always been notorious for its amusing glitches that happen at the most unfortunate times possible. Although sometimes there can be frustrating bugs that prevent players from properly playing the game as intended, other times it's hard to ignore their hilarious nature. After all, there's a reason why some fans believe certain Sims 4 glitches should be turned into mechanics in the next game.

Sims 4 may have been around for nearly a decade now, but that doesn't mean that it's reached perfection yet; it's still getting frequent updates and new content to complement the base game. It's not uncommon for these updates to lead to interesting glitches. For example, the new v1.97.42 update caused certain Sims 4 townies' faces to be seriously altered in the worst way possible, getting a chuckle out of many fans familiar with these premade families.

The recent Sims 4 Infants update added tons of new features and free content to the game in an attempt to improve its quality of life and playability. Now, instead of having to select "More Choices" multiple times to look for a specific social interaction within a tab, players can simply filter it through categories. So, for example, instead of having to search for the "Deep Conversation" interaction in the middle of a dozen other choices in the Friendly social tab, gamers can simply open the Deep Thoughts category and select it from a smaller batch of choices. Reddit user Ok_Reflection2579 recently experienced an issue with this feature that prevented their Sim from accessing the Deep Thoughts category due to insufficient funds.

The original poster believes that this has happened because of a broken mod they have installed, but many in the comments section speculated that it might be related to the new Sims 4 Science Baby feature. The option to ask someone if they'd like to have a Science Baby is in the Deep Thoughts category, and it costs 1,200 Simoleons. There are other possible interactions in Deep Thoughts, but they may require a higher Charisma skill level or a stronger friendship between the two Sims. The most likely explanation here is that the Sim cannot afford to ask the other Sim to have a Science Baby with them.

Regardless, this is still a hilarious image, as it gives the idea that The Sims 4 world has suffered greatly with a capitalist ideology to the point that some people can no longer afford to think too much.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
