It seems that Simmers may finally be receiving one of the most requested features for The Sims 4. The Sims franchise’s playerbase is one of the most dedicated and vocal in gaming. The advocacy of Simmers has led to features from previous titles in The Sims franchise to finally join The Sims 4. EA and Maxis have also been very receptive to player suggestions, constantly releasing polls for players since The Sims 4 debuted back in 2014.
When it comes to discussion about The Sims 4, player opinion isn’t the only voice that runs rampant. Leaks for The Sims 4 are fairly common, with packs oftentimes being accidentally listed on sites constantly. If the most recent leak about The Sims 4 is true, not only will the game finally be adding a frequently requested feature, but The Sims 4 will encroach on the territory of one of its simulation genre competitors, Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland Event Means Missing One Opportunity
One upcoming film would have been the perfect topical alternative to Disney Dreamlight Valley's current Cheshire Cat Chaos event.
Fairies May Be Flying to The Sims 4
As of writing, there are technically seven different Occult types in The Sims 4: aliens, ghosts, mermaids, spellcasters, vampires, werewolves, and PlantSims. Most of these Occult types made their way into The Sims 4 through either Game or Expansion Packs, though ghosts and PlantSims are present in the base game. As mentioned, accidental shop listings are one of the most frequent ways that new DLC for The Sims 4 is leaked to the public. Such is the case with the allegedly titled Enchanted By Nature Expansion Pack, which was listed on Instant Gaming. Along with the alleged title of the pack, a few images and a description of the pack also appeared on the website.
The main draw of the Enchanted By Nature Expansion Pack will allegedly be fairies, which players have begged The Sims team to add to The Sims 4 for years. Like other Occult types already present in The Sims 4, fairies have already appeared in The Sims franchise through The Sims 3: Supernatural. This pack was also responsible for the addition of spellcasters and werewolves, and expanded upon vampires and ghosts in The Sims 3. With other Occult types from The Sims 3: Supernatural already in The Sims 4, the addition of fairies to the game was less of a question of “if” than “when.”
Disney Dreamlight Valley Is Missing One of Its Biggest Players
Similarly to Simmers, Disney Dreamlight Valley players have been asking for fairies to join the hit IP-based simulation game for quite a while as well. Of course, Disney Dreamlight Valley hasn’t been around for as long as The Sims 4, and certainly not The Sims franchise, but Disney Dreamlight Valley has been similarly receptive to fan opinion like The Sims team. The lack of fairies in Disney Dreamlight Valley is quite surprising, as Tinkerbell acts as essentially one of Disney’s main mascots, only rivaled by Stitch and Mickey Mouse himself. It seems that Disney Dreamlight Valley has noticed the lack of fairy content in the game, using the game’s current Garden of Whimsy Star Path to introduce items inspired by the Disney Fairies franchise into the game.
Though The Sims 4, allegedly, is beating Disney Dreamlight Valley to the punch on the addition of fairy characters, there is an opportunity for fairies to join Disney Dreamlight Valley just around the corner. Back in November 2024, Gameloft revealed Disney Dreamlight Valley’s free content roadmap for the first half of 2025. The first two images of the roadmap suggested that Aladdin, Jasmine, and characters from Alice in Wonderland would join the game’s roster in its first two updates of 2025.
This proved to be true, giving the theory that the roadmap’s third image of Skull Rock will lead to Peter Pan characters joining Disney Dreamlight Valley more weight. Hopefully, Tinkerbell will fly to the Valley in this coming update. Nevertheless, The Sims 4 may have a head start on fairy content, but Disney Dreamlight Valley seems not to be too far behind.
