Here's everything you need to know about the popular Inherited Manor Challenge.

This challenge isn't for the faint of heart, and certainly not for those who grow attached to their Sims, but for those who are willing to shed some virtual blood. It promises an immersive, intense experience that pushes the boundaries for those seeking a newfound appreciation for The Sims 4.

The Reaping

Two Sims side-by-side are frowning because they have just been reaped as tributes for The Hunger Games in the legacy challenge for The Sims 4.

Every year, the Capitol organizes a Reaping to pick one teenage male and one teenage female tribute from each district to compete in the annual Hunger Games. Whether they come from the player's household is up to chance. The creator of this challenge suggests using a die or a random number generator to decide the tributes. Players of transgender, non-binary, and genderqueer Sims can decide the odds for themselves.

Low-income families can have their children sign up for the Tessera, which doubles the odds of them being reaped but rewards the family with 1,000 simoleons per tribute. With The Sims 4: Seasons expansion pack installed, players can experiment with turning The Reaping into a custom holiday using the calendar. The creator recommends creating a reaping holiday once every two weeks.

The Hunger Games

After The Reaping, the tributes are sent to the arena to fight to the death until a single victor remains. Players can instantly kill their Sim after the reaping, roll a die according to the odds listed in each generation, or experiment with a custom online wheel. There are, however, several mods that allow Sims to simulate violence, like the Extreme Violence Mod by Sacrificial. For total realism, gather all twenty-four tributes (including townies and NPCs) in an arena and enable autonomous killing for everyone to see which tribute is the last standing victor.

Play through 20 generations of Sims that embody the MySims trophies from the game's collections.

As consolation for winning the Games, the tribute escapes with their life. They also receive 50,000 simoleons and celebrity status. Players with The Sims 4: Get Famous may cheat the victor to a three-star celebrity and move them to a Victor's Village-style mansion for the remainder of their lives.

Generations

The following information lays the groundwork for each generation of the challenge, beginning with the Capitol and ending with District Thirteen. The Capitol is exempt from participating in The Hunger Games, but players can select townies or NPCs to compete if they so choose.

For the rest of the generations, one surviving child from the family must continue the legacy by becoming the heir. The creator includes short stories about each personality and requirements, including details about trait selection, aspirations, and careers.

Generation One - Capitol

The Capitol citizen is the first generation of the challenge and she has the traits mean, ambitious, and self-absorbed
  • Reaping Odds: N/A

The challenge begins with a privileged Sim from the Capitol with the traits Evil, Ambitious, and Self-Absorbed. This Sim has big plans for their life as a Politician (The Sims 4: City Living). They set out to complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration before their life ends.

On top of that, they aspire to reach Global Superstar celebrity status, but they must have a poor reputation. The rules also state that the Capitol generation must have a pair of twins but are allowed to have as many children as they want aside from that.

Generation Two - District One

The Sim from District One shares similar traits to their parents: Outgoing, Materialistic, and Self-Absorbed. Thanks to their generational wealth, they never have to land a traditional job. Instead, they strive to complete the World Famous Celebrity aspiration and receive a pristine reputation. They live as an idol for the people in the districts, a prime example that hard work pays off, even though this isn't necessarily true.

Whereas the generations before them used their charming smiles and riches to gain power, the Hot-Headed, Bro, and Active Sim from District Two learned to get their way by using their strength. As a child from a "career" district, they began training for The Hunger Games as if it were a professional tournament. In addition to mastering the fitness skill, they must also complete the Bodybuilder aspiration.

To complement their skills, have them join either the Military career (The Sims 4: StrangerVille), the Detective career (The Sims 4: Get To Work), or the Secret Agent career (base game). They must also get into fights with several other Sims in their lifetime. This lifestyle drives a wedge between the District Two Sim and their child, the District Three heir.

Generation Four - District Three
