The Sims 4 has released a survey that allows its fans to vote and make suggestions on new content that could make its way to the base game for free. When The Sims 4 was first released back in September 2014, it wasn't nearly as complete as it is today. For example, back then, babies would immediately grow up into children. Thanks to several updates that have made their way to the game, newborns now age up into infants, then toddlers, and finally children.

The Sims 4 Infants

Every once in a while, The Sims Team releases major patches that greatly modify the base game, such as The Sims 4 Infant update. Smaller additions are usually made through Sims Delivery Express and hotfixes. Thanks to all the inclusive content that's been introduced to The Sims 4 over the years, players have been able to make much more realistic Sims in Create-a-Sim with additions such as hearing aids, binders, and custom pronouns. They can also now properly celebrate other cultures, as patches have added regional recipes, holidays, and festive items.

Sims 4 Survey Hints at More Free Inclusive Items, Customization Options, and Recipes

There are hundreds of cultures, countries, and customization options that the team still hasn't brought to The Sims 4, but it seems that the developers haven't given up on the project yet, as a recent survey encourages fans to speak up on what they think is missing in the game. In this survey, the developers ask for fan feedback on what they think should be included in The Sims 4 as "part of free content updates." On Reddit, a fan shared some screenshots of The Sims 4 survey and stated how happy they were that Iranian culture could possibly be coming to the game in a future update.

The wording on the questionnaire makes it clear that the goal is to continue to work towards bringing as many cultures and inclusive features to The Sims 4 and not keep it behind a paywall. While The Sims 4 has been under scrutiny several times due to its extensive library of paid DLCs, it does not force players to pay for its basic, inclusive features.

For example, the Lovestruck expansion pack has a world called Ciudad Enamorada, and it's inspired by Mexican cities. In this case, if players want access to these architectural items in Build Mode, they will have to purchase the expansion pack. However, smaller inclusions, such as recipes like Pao de Queijo, or hearing aids, were all added to the base game for free thanks to the Sims Delivery Express service, content updates, and hotfixes. Hopefully, fans will soon be able to see the additions that they voted for in The Sims 4, whether it's more gender-neutral representation, holidays and celebrations, or national dishes. Those who are interested in voting and making their own suggestions can do so by accessing the survey link here.
