Due to an error following an EA App update, the next expansion pack for The Sims 4 and crucial information on what's to come until the end of the year was leaked to the community. While The Sims base games tend to have plenty of content, the expansions complement them greatly. The quantity has only increased with each entry in the series, with The Sims 4 currently having a total of 20 expansions.
The Sims 4 has been out for over a decade, but the developers continue to update it regularly and add content to keep it fresh for fans. The latest full-fledged expansion pack for The Sims 4, Enchanted by Nature, came out in July 2025. However, since then, two creator kits have been released, only adding to the growing collection of DLC. Given the short periods of time between these releases, players weren't expecting a new Sims 4 expansion pack any time soon, but it seems that DLC is on the horizon.
EA Explains Why It's Not Making The Sims 5
The Sims 5 is still not happening, and EA believes that decision is in the best interest of series' most dedicated players.
EA Accidentally Reveals New Expansion Pack
On August 28, the EA App was updated. When the update went live, it seems that EA accidentally posted the announcement for an upcoming expansion pack, kits, and events, and the roadmap for the third and fourth quarters of the year. Fans were able to screenshot the post, but that is all they got, as the announcement link led nowhere. A leaker, known as MedievalKiller12 (account currently deactivated), had previously shared a picture of a The Sims 4 roadmap, and this is most likely the image that would've been shown on the removed webpage. At this point, players have a pretty clear picture of what to expect for The Sims 4 until the end of 2025.
According to the leaked Sims 4 roadmap, the next expansion pack will be revealed on September 4. On September 23, an event should begin, similarly to how the Nature's Calling event promoted the release of Enchanted by Nature. The expansion pack should come out on October 2, as the event continues. A few more free base game updates and kits are also expected, and that is it for the rest of the year.
Not long after the roadmap leak, a promotional image of the expansion pack started going around the community. If true, the expansion pack will be called Adventure Awaits, and it will have a similar vibe to the Outdoor Retreat game pack. It appears that archery could be a new skill coming with the pack, and imaginary friends could also return to The Sims. The gameplay possibilities are endless, but for now, gamers have to wait for more information from EA. On the bright side, if the expansion pack is officially announced on September 4, they won't have to wait much longer. Soon enough, they should receive a reveal trailer for Adventure Awaits.
