In The Sims 4: Werewolves, players can create their own wolfy-Sims or interact with the different packs in the new world, Moonwood Mill. Whether they want to join the pacifist Moonwood Collective, the rebellious Wildfangs, or be the strongest lone wolf, Sims can "free the beast" and enjoy the wilder side of life.

The werewolf packs are a great way to meet other werewolves and learn about the wolf way of life. Ambitious Sims can even become the alpha of the pack with the right initiative and hard work. Alphas can decide all the pack ranks, pack initiates, and kick other werewolves out of the group. So, here's how to become pack alpha in The Sims 4: Werewolves.

Join a Werewolf Pack

The Sims 4 Werewolves

Since players can't create wolf packs, they must join one of the premade ones in Moonwood Mill if they want to be an alpha werewolf. There are two packs to choose from: the Moonwood Collective and the Wildfangs. Each pack has a morality system through its Pack Values.

The Moonwood Collective wolves believe in a calm lifestyle, even as werewolves, and discourage wild behavior or violence. Conversely, the Wildfangs are about giving into those inner urges and enjoying life as a werewolf. Players must befriend the current alpha of each pack if they want to join it.

Befriend an Alpha

The Sims 4 Werewolves

Players must first be friends with one of the Alphas and become a friend of the pack to join. The leader of the Moonwood Collective is Kristopher Volkov. His adopted daughter, Rory Oaklow, is the leader of the Wildfangs.

Both are typically found at their respective hideouts. The Moonwood Collective hideout is a large tree with star and moon decorations hanging from it. The Wildfangs' hideout is a small trailer with a huge bonfire outside of it. If players select either, they can choose to "Focus Camera on the Pack Leader" to find them quickly.

Once friendship is high enough between a Sim and the Alpha of a pack, the option to become a friend of the pack appears. This grants the Sim limited access to the hangout and unique interactions with pack members. While Sims don't have to be werewolves to be a friend of the pack, they do have to be a werewolf to ask to join.

Pack Trials

The Sims 4: Werewolves

After asking the alpha to join the pack, werewolf Sims must complete a series of trials to show they are serious about becoming a member. Some trials require specific werewolf abilities to be unlocked, but most can be done immediately. There must complete three of the trial options below:

  • Spar with Pack Leader (Must have the Transformation Mastery dormant ability)
  • Discuss Lunar Epiphany (Must have the Lunar Epiphany dormant ability)
  • Demonstrate Scavenging (Must have the Scavenger ability)
  • Demonstrate Pack Howl (Must have the Pack Howl ability)
  • Give an Uncommon or Rare Collectible
  • Give Excellent Quality Food

When the trials are complete, Werewolf Sims can officially join the pack. Joining the pack means they will have full access to the hangout and pack resources, but they are also expected to uphold all the pack's values. If they don't stay active, the alpha will reprimand them.

Increase Pack Rank

The Sims 4 Werewolves

All werewolves start at an Omega ranking in their packs. The ranks include the following:

  • Omega
  • Delta
  • Beta
  • Alpha

They must participate in the pack values through specific activities to increase rank. The values can be viewed from the Group panel on the bottom right side of the screen.

Expand and Explore

Sims are encouraged to meet other occults, go to secret locations and unique landmarks, and explore the underground tunnels in Moonwood Mill. After getting the Territory Marking ability, they should also use the Mark Territory interaction.

Self-Improvement

Sims should increase their werewolf rank to unlock new abilities and improve their Fitness skills.

Challenge the Alpha

The Sims 4: Werewolves

Sims must challenge the current alpha to take on the role of pack leader. Doing this is no easy feat and will significantly strain their relationship with the alpha, so preparation is key. Since the challenges are physical activities, Sims should make sure their Fitness skill is very high because alphas are powerful.

After reaching Apex werewolf rank, players should also strive to get the Alpha Wolf ability. This ability makes them more likely to win in challenges and spars. The best way to increase werewolf rank is to do werewolf actions like howling, destroying furniture, or turning other Sims with the Cursed Bite ability.

Another tip is to make sure Sims are Energized before challenging the alpha. Drinking coffee, purchasing an Energized potion from the Rewards Store, or exercising can grant them Energized moodlets. To challenge the alpha, go to the Werewolf pack menu and choose "Challenge the leader for Alpha Rank."

The Sims 4 Werewolves

There are two types of challenges: Epic Tug of War and Epic Brawl. It may take a couple of tries, but if players do all of the above actions, they have a high chance of defeating the alpha and taking over the pack.
