Skate's first season will arrive on October 7, bringing limited-time events, new cosmetics, and more. It's been less than a month since the long-awaited fourth entry in the skateboarding series started its early access period, but developers are already rolling out new content. Over the next few months, Skate players have multiple updates and new content to look forward to.

Lipslide Skate

Things haven't gone as smoothly as EA and developer Full Circle likely would've hoped in the game's first weeks. Despite drawing over one million people to sign up for its closed playtest, an EA record, Skate was met with mixed reviews upon release, with many users criticizing its server troubles and reliance on microtransactions. Given the early feedback, it's clear fans believe there's room for improvement, and the newly unveiled Season 1 offers some insight into how things may shape up from here.

What to Expect From Skate 4's Early Access Updates

Skate 4 has arrived in early access, but EA and Full Circle have plans to greatly expand it over the next few weeks and months.

Skate Season 1 Starts October 7, Brings Seasonal Events and Both Free and Paid Rewards

Full Circle confirmed that the fourth Skate would be a live service game as early as 2022, and now the team has offered a glimpse into the first round of live service content. Season 1 will run from October 7 to December 2, 2025, split between two in-game events: Skate-O-Ween, which will go from October 7 to November 11, and the 7-Ply Maple Harvest, which starts on November 18 and runs through the rest of the season. During each event, parks around town will feature themed decor and players will have opportunities to participate in activities to earn Tix, which can unlock themed cosmetics. New skateable areas will also appear around the city in Season 1.

Skate Season 1 content overview

In addition to event-related challenges, players will get daily, weekly, and larger seasonal objectives to complete to earn Tix and exchange them for rewards. Notably, while Skate's controversial microtransactions are still present, they're not the only way to unlock seasonal cosmetics. Each season going forward will have two rewards tracks called skate.Pass, a free "Standard" tier and a paid "Premium" tier. Both offer the chance to participate in events and earn Tix, but Premium users will have more available to them.

how to complete all achievements in skate 4

In Season 1, all users will have at least 32 cosmetics and six tiers of SVB to unlock, while the Premium skate.Pass will offer an additional 42 cosmetics and 2 SVB tiers. EA also suggested future seasons will run for longer and have more unlockables. The cosmetics include board items like decks and grip tape, clothing, gestures, and profile items like banners and avatars. There will also be collabs with real-world brands and new tracks on the in-game soundtrack. Each season will also offer quality of life improvements. Full Circle has cited hopes for the reboot to be the "best Skate has ever felt" so these fixes should help with that.
