The Protocol is a dangerous faction in Atomfall. They're armed to the teeth and have various B.A.R.D. Robots fighting by their side. With all that firepower, they can surely spare a few guns. All you have to do is break into their armoury out in Skethermoor.

Atomfall: How To Upgrade Weapons

To upgrade weapons, Atomfall players must pick up a specific Skill and collect the materials necessary to craft a better gun.

Luckily, the Protocol is not great at storing away the key to their gun collection. You can get inside the Protocol Armoury and loot a rare, powerful weapon. You just have to find Atomfall's Protocol Armoury Keycard.

How to Get to the Protocol Camp in Atomfall

Here are the Coordinates

Skethermoor is a region that is heavily controlled by the Protocol. You'll run into their soldiers all over this region and their various bunkers and garrisons. The most notable spot in all of Skethermoor is the Skethermoor Prison. Outside the jail is the main Protocol Camp, which is located at 39.9 E, 71.4 N on the map. The Armoury that we're looking for is located at this very same camp.

Now you could just make your way there after heading through Wyndham Village, but it may be better to ingratiate yourself with the Protocol's leader, Captain Sims. He is stationed at the Village Hall in Wyndham, which is located at 33.4E, 79.3N on the map.

Upon meeting him and answering his questions, he'll ask you for intel about the village. If you've started either The Bakery Lead or the St. Katherine's Church Lead, you can report to him about either quest. With that info divulged, he'll trust you and allow you to access the Skethermoor Prison and the Protocol Camp surrounding it without any resistance from his men.

Reporting to Captain Sims about these side quests will usually lead to them ending prematurely and you losing out on potential rewards for completing them. However, you can finish these quests and then tell Sims about them afterward.

How to Get the Protocol Armoury Key In Skethermoor

Look for a Green Desk

You can now freely wander around the Protocol Camp outside Skethermoor Prison. As long as you don't do anything to aggravate the soldiers, they will not attack you. While snooping around this camp, you can stumble across the Protocol Armoury at the coordinates 39.3 E, 71.5 N. It'll be protected by turrets and locked up tight.

The Protocol soldiers really seem to hate it when you use the Signal Redirector on any of their turrets or electrical boxes. So if you're planning on using the Redirector around them, be sure to do it when no one is looking, or you may turn the soldiers hostile.

To get inside, you need to find the Access Control building at the coordinates 40.6 E, 71.3 N. Head inside , and the Armoury Key will be sitting on a green desk next to a note titled "Signalling The Wall." Snatch it up and head back to the Armoury. You should be able to use the key without angering any Protocol soldiers or setting off the turrets.

Enter the Armoury and head to the back. There will be two jail cells full of items for you to loot, like a bow with a ton of arrows. But the best item you can find here is a stock-level Enfield LMG. This is a fully automatic machine gun that can melt through tough enemies. It's a great weapon, but it can quickly use up all your rifle ammo if you hold the trigger. Steal the rest of the goods in the Armoury and leave without the Protocol suspecting a thing.
