Players can obtain Casting Sand by destroying or boarding certain ships that travel the trade routes in the Pembe zone. This zone is located at the north end of the Coast of Africa region, at the northwest corner of Skull and Bones' map, and it is approximately 12,000 meters northwest of Sainte-Anne. Here is a map that showcases the precise position of the Pembe zones, and ships that follow the relevant trade routes can be found throughout the area:

While players should feel free to indiscriminately destroy ships in their attempt to claim Casting Sand, they may want to identify the vessels that are carrying the desired material before they open fire. This is easily done by focusing the spyglass on the ships that sail around Pembe and then targeting those that are carrying Casting Sand. Notably, players should always look to use Skull and Bones' boarding mechanic, instead of destroying the enemy ships outright, in order to have a chance at earning bonus Casting Sand and other materials.
