Skull and Bones players will get to live the life of a scurvy pirate that they can customize. You'll be able to pick several cosmetic features for your character, being able to adjust things like skin tone, hairstyle, body type, tattoos, and more. After going through the opening ship fight and losing to opponents, you'll be promoted to customize your character.
This guide is for the open beta for Skull and Bones. We might update this post for the full launch if any content has been altered, changing the way players can customize their character.

Can You Change Your Character Appearance in Skull and Bones?

Fear not for those worried about not being able to change how your character looks later on in Skull and Bones. Even after you create your character in the intro, you'll be able to customize your character without sacrificing currency or items.
How to Change Your Character in Skull and Bones
Vanity Atelier
Once you get to the pirate town of Sainte-Anne, you'll have a main quest called 'Appointment with Power.' You'll need to deliver a letter and report Exeter's Fate to John Scurlock. In this area, you can open your map to find a mirror icon. This is the location of an NPC called the Vanity Atelier. However, you won't be able to speak with her until you talk to Scurlock. Check out the map above to find the shop circled in red. The mirror icon should also pop up on your compass, helping you locate it.
There will be a Vanity Atelier at every den in Skull and Bones so that players can customize their Captain.
Speak to the NPC and then choose 'Change Physical Appearance' to go through the customization options again.
How to Buy Emotes and Equipment
The Atelier will also sell outfits and emotes, but you'll need different types of currencies to purchase them, like Silver and Pieces of Eight.
