Skyrim players have a big new location to explore in the game right now, courtesy of a recently released mod. This new Skyrim mod brings a popular Elder Scrolls Online location to Bethesda's 2011 RPG.
The impact of the modding community on Skyrim's lifespan cannot be overstated. For almost 14 years now, talented modders have brought their creativity to Skyrim, pushing the game to its boundaries to see how it can be transformed. Just recently, a new mod turned Skyrim into a Pokemon-like game, showcasing the kind of awesome creations that have helped keep the game alive for such an extended period of time. On PC, the game even has more concurrent players than Oblivion Remastered, a testament to what having an established modding community can do.
Skyrim’s Lead Designer Reveals How the Game’s AI System Was Designed
A former Bethesda employee reveals interesting details about how The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's Radiant NPC system was designed.
As spotted by TheGamer, a new Skyrim mod over on Nexus Mods from user WMDBloodHunter has added Bleakrock Isle, the starting zone for Ebonheart Pact players in The Elder Scrolls Online. Best of all, it's also available through the in-game modding menu, meaning console players should also have access to Bleakrock Isle, too. Since Elder Scrolls Online takes place almost 1,000 years before Skyrim, WMDBloodHunter has put their own spin on how the area may have changed in that time.
New Skyrim Mod Adds The Elder Scrolls Online's Bleakrock Isle
Right now, the Bleakrock Isle mod is only in the early stages, featuring two player homes and one village. However, the eventual plan is to feature the entire island and "add quests in the style of Morrowind, new unique named items, more player homes, the ESO armors such as the Nord armor," and more. Skyrim mods that add new areas are often a lot of work, so it's always best to temper excitement in case they never get finished. However, Bleakrock Isle is certainly off to a promising start, so it'll be interesting to see how this one progresses.
Bethesda continues to work on the development of The Elder Scrolls 6, the wait for which seems destined to extend to 14 years in November. It was reported earlier this month that The Elder Scrolls 6 has reached a playable state in development, which is a positive sign about the game's current direction. However, there's no indication of when fans can expect an official update on the game, with Bethesda remaining typically silent on the project.
