A Skyrim player has recently discovered that the symbol for Conjuration magic in the game’s skill tree is an Oblivion Gate. The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a huge game, and it’s not uncommon for some gamers to spend years playing the title without paying attention to some minor but significant details.

Originally released in 2011, Skyrim is one of the most successful games of all time. According to Bethesda, Skyrim has already sold over 60 million copies worldwide when counting all of its editions and releases, making it more popular than any other Elder Scrolls title. Part of the reason why the game was so popular with gamers was due to its sprawling open world filled with secrets and quests, along with small details that could take years for some more distracted players to notice.

Highly Anticipated Skywind Mod for Skyrim Gets New Demo

The highly anticipated Skyrim mod Skywind gets a brand-new gameplay demo, offering fans a look a new gameplay.

Now, a gamer called New_Juggernaut_7664 has shared their latest realization on social media: that the symbol of the Conjuration skill tree is actually an Oblivion Gate. This discovery, which also surprised some other gamers, obtained over 11,000 upvotes, making New_Juggernaut_7664’s post incredibly popular. According to some gamers in the comments, the symbol also means “Oht” in the game’s Daedric language, and it represents the plane of Oblivion in general. That’s likely why it’s associated with the school of Conjuration in Skyrim, as monsters are conjured from other planes.

Veteran Skyrim Player Realizes the Conjuration Skill Symbol is an Oblivion Gate After 14 Years

This is far from the only interesting detail unveiled by a Skyrim player years after the game’s release. For example, another fan noticed a small lockpicking detail in Skyrim last year. According to the gamer, it’s possible to hear audio cues when trying to lockpick doors or chests in Skyrim, as the noise is different when the player is near the correct position, which could help them to be more efficient if they are paying enough attention.

Some other discoveries made by players can be equally useful and sometimes even simpler. For example, another gamer recently noticed a hidden path from Riverwood to Bleaks Falls Barrow in Skyrim. Generally, most players tend to end up in Whiterun instead of going to Riverwood early in Skyrim, given that it’s possible to simply not follow roads and still get by. So, knowing about this path was considered very useful in the early game. Curiously, many other gamers in the comments on the fan’s post were also surprised by the discovery, showing how often people are unaware of this interesting detail.
