Skyrim has a lot of different enemies, from the lowly mudcrab to the fierce dragons that made the game so famous, which are now the subject of an online debate around which would be the easiest to defeat in real life. Skyrim is one of the most immersive games ever made, has come a long way since it released in 2011, and still enjoys massive popularity today. The Steam version of Skyrim still boasts an average of over 20,000 players at any given time, which is a respectable number for a game of its age.
Some of the enemies found in Skyrim are challenging enough to beat in game, but even the more innocuous ones can pose a serious threat to the unwary player. In real life, it's a different story; players would probably be lucky to survive without having the innate power of the Dragonborn or any of the powerful weapons and spells found in Skyrim.
Redditor GreenHorse posted an image asking other members of the Skyrim community which enemies they might be able to take on in real life. Most of the responders don't seem all that confident that they would be able to hold their own even against some of the more pedestrian enemies, while others pointed out that the real world is a dangerous place and that modern technology like guns might give them an edge. One of the more humorous responses came from ManDragonA: "I'd say a chicken; but we all know how that ends up," in reference to the fact that entire populations will turn on players who kill chickens within a town's boundaries.
While they have not been featured as part of the debate, Skyrim mods have become a massive part of the game. One ambitious mod team is rebuilding Oblivion in the newer engine, replete with enemies that are not found in the snowy province that Skyrim takes its name from. Even without these, the world of Skyrim is fraught with dangers that would likely make real life miserable for all of humanity, like the powerful and often meddlesome Daedric lords that sometimes make life difficult for the Dragonborn.
Dragons and spellcasters aside, there are some analogous creatures that exist in the real world like wolves, rats, and big cats which, as some users pointed out, have throughout history been hunted by mankind. While it will never truly be known if a man could take on some of the more fantastical threats found in Skyrim, it does make for an interesting debate.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
