A Skyrim player accidentally killed Lydia in their playthrough, finishing her off with a cinematic killcam. The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim features a follower system that allows gamers to recruit various NPCs in the game as allies. These followers offer numerous benefits, such as fighting alongside players as they battle against the various enemies and monsters of Skyrim.
There are plenty of good followers to choose from in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, with Lydia being one of the most popular ones from the list. Many Skyrim players have shared stories of how Lydia died in their playthrough of the game, such as her getting killed by a giant while exploring the world. Now, another player has shared a video of how they managed to accidentally kill Lydia while fighting an enemy.
A Reddit user named Happy_Confection_621 has shared a clip from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, showing their fight against Mikrul Gauldurson. The player manages to kill the enemy in just three hits, but the fourth attack targets Lydia, killing her in a cinematic fashion with a killcam. The player is then able to then search Lydia’s body for items, confirming that she was equipped with a steel armor set while also carrying a bunch of Dragon Bones and Dragon Scales.
At first glance, it looks like Happy_Confection_621 was mashing the attack button while fighting the enemy, which then locked onto Lydia as she was standing nearby. However, the player confirms that they believed Lydia to be a Draugr in Skyrim that popped out of nowhere, and she was already dead by the time they realized it. It’s also funny to see the boss take three hits to go down, while Lydia doesn’t survive a single strike.
One fan in the comments section claims to have killed numerous Skyrim followers by accident, as these NPCs ended up walking into the player while they were swinging a weapon. Another gamer shares that it’s also possible to kill Skyrim guards similarly, as they too appear to have a habit of walking into the Dragonborn mid-swing. One user jokingly states that this kill was in self-defense, while other players share stories of how Lydia died in their game. Apart from her unfortunate death, fans also discuss the weapon showcased in the video, with the Reddit poster confirming it to be the Windsong sword from the Hemlock Hall mod in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
