Long before the time of Skyrim the Mythic Dawn cult rose to power and helped to bring Tamriel to its knees during the Oblivion Crisis. Dedicated to Mehrunes Dagon, the Mythic Dawn cult sought to bring about the destruction of Nirn, the mortal plane of existence in Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls series.

They were unsuccessful, but the havoc wrought by the Mythic Dawn was felt all across Tamriel and beyond. Their members all wore robes dyed red with the blood of sacrifice with gold accents, and their former leader Mankar Camoran was a powerful mage – as such, the Mythic Dawn Robes in Skyrim are geared towards Magicka-users.

  • Armor Rating: None
  • Gold Value: 75
  • Special Effects: 75% increased Magicka Recovery rate

The Mythic Dawn Robes are not considered "armor" by the game and are instead classified as Clothing. This means they can't be improved and add nothing to a player's Armor Rating, but the enchantment on the Robes makes them worth finding, especially if you manage to get a set at low levels.

The robes increase a player's Magicka Recovery rate by 75%, which can be good early in a playthrough but quickly becomes outclassed by armor in the world and by player-enchanted gear. The main appeal of Mythic Dawn Robes for most Skyrim players is its cosmetic value – they look just as good displayed on a Mannequin as they do on a player.

Mythic Dawn Robes can be found in three ways in Skyrim: stealing it from the Mythic Dawn Museum in Dawnstar, slaying Silus Vesuius for his Robes, or killing and looting a member of the Mythic Dawn Cult during the Anniversary Edition quest "The Cause".

While the quest for the Mythic Dawn Museum can't be started until Level 20, players can still go to Dawnstar and go inside to find a pair of Mythic Dawn Robes in a display case and, of course, being worn by Silus Vesuius. "The Cause" starts at Level 40, and Mythic Dawn cultists are found throughout the many new areas added to the game that the questline progresses through.
