A new Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim mod called “SkyPal - Become a Beastmaster” turns the popular open-world game into a Pokemon-inspired experience. The Skyrim modding community is incredibly creative, and this latest project is proof of how some mods can really change Bethesda’s game in fun ways.
Originally released in 2011, Skyrim is Bethesda’s biggest hit, selling over 60 million units. Since its initial weeks on the market, Skyrim has had a strong modding community, which was responsible for devising thousands of mods, offering a wide variety of content. Skyrim Special Edition’s page on Nexus Mod alone boasts over 113,000 mods, an astonishingly high number when compared to almost any other title.
Ambitious Skyrim Project Could Be a Slippery Slope for Future Bethesda Games
Fans' desires are illuminated by a relatively recent Skyrim project, but this could spell trouble for future Bethesda games, if it continues to gather
A modder called kuroishitam released a new mod for Skyrim on Nexus Mods, “SkyPal - Become a Beastmaster,” which adds the ability to capture monsters with “Skyspheres.” After installing the mod, players should go to Farengar’s room in Whiterun, where they will find three Skyspheres on the table, and pick one of them, as well as read some lore about the new tool. After that, they can explore the world and capture wild animals and monsters. To do this, players have to fight a while to diminish their enemy’s maximum health, and then hit them with the Skyphere. After that, the monsters can be summoned and will attack any NPC hostile to the Dragonborn, aiding in fights and walking together with the player, while also becoming stronger as the main character levels up.
New 'SkyPal - Become a Beastmaster' Mod Allows Players to Capture Creatures in Skyrim
To play the new mod, however, gamers need to install others first. The whole list includes “Throwing Weapons Lite SE,” “Core Impact Framework,” “Object Impact Framework,” “Formlist Manipulator”, and “Chickens and Rabbits Can Attack.” It’s unknown if SkyPal is incompatible with any other projects, so gamers who use other popular Skyrim mods should not mix too many of them to avoid breaking the game.
Despite Skyrim being an almost 15-year-old game, fans are still coming up with amazing mods. Last week, for example, Skyrim’s new “Call of the Deep” mod was released, adding a legendary underwater Dwemer city to the Sea of Ghosts. The story-driven mod has a branching storyline, two endings, new weapons, spells, and more.
Another noteworthy project to surface recently was the new “Echoes of Oblivion” Skyrim mod, which brought Radiant NPC voices to the open-world game. According to the creators of the mod, the package includes over 4,500 unique NPC dialogues that can be triggered in various circumstances.
