Sniper Elite Resistance mission 2 opens the area up for players to explore and tackle missions in the order they like, unlike the first mission. One of the first objectives is to infiltrate the Basilica Church and locate a hidden dead drop left behind by a Nazi Informant known as Vertigo. The objective does not contain point-to-point objective markers, so it's up to the player's exploration to find said dead drop and complete the mission's first objective.

How to Find Vertigo's Dead Drop in Sniper Elite Resistance Mission 2
Once Mission 2: Dead Drop starts, you'll make your way inside the city and spot the Basilica Church in Sniper Elite Resistance. There are multiple entry points into the church, so you can choose the one that's most convenient for you. There are several collectibles you can get inside the church, but the main objective is to locate the dead drop left by Vertigo. Here's how you'll complete the objective.
Reaching the Basilica's Bell Tower
Entering the church, you'll spot a few enemies patrolling the first floor. To make exploration easier, you'll need to eliminate them first before exploring the building for the quest item. As the guards are closer together, using the silenced pistol may alert others, so you'll have to rely on melee takedowns to maintain stealth.
Once the enemies are taken care of, you can progress to the second floor from one of the staircases. Additionally, you can also grab the Basilica Vestry Safe Key from a table near one of the staircases to open the locked safe upstairs.
Reaching the second floor, open the safe to grab one of the collectible notes. Keep heading forward and turn right to enter a stairway leading to the Basilica Church's bell tower.
Collecting Vertigo's Hidden Dead Drop
After reaching the bell tower, you'll first need to take out the sniper nested on the balcony. Taking the sniper out will also make escaping the church without detection possible. Now, look towards the right to spot a painting on the wall. Interact with the painting to reveal a hidden compartment behind it which contains Vertigo's Dead Drop.
Collecting the dead drop will mark the "Collect Vertigo's Dead Drop" objective in Sniper Elite Resistance's mission 2 as complete. Now you can move onto the next objectives in the mission.
