Upcoming CRPG Solasta 2 has received an exciting update, after developer Tactical Adventures confirmed the game is set to enter Early Access in early 2026. Early impressions have seen Solasta 2 compared to Larian's Baldur's Gate 3, which would be high praise if it can live up to the potential.
The original Solasta: Crown of the Magister launched back in 2021, and became something of a cult success. Popular among hardcore CRPG fans, but perhaps less so with the wider gaming audience. Still, its "Very Positive" Steam reviews indicate that developer Tactical Adventures got it right the first time around, which is why Baldur's Gate 3 fans are hyped for Solasta 2. It's a tough comparison, sure, but it's impossible to ignore the visual and gameplay similarities between the two.

Solasta 2 Enters Early Access in Early 2026
In a new gameplay trailer, Tactical Adventures confirmed that Solasta 2 will enter Early Access on Steam in early 2026, but was unable to commit to a more concrete date than that, stating that "we're taking a few more weeks (months?) To polish everything - we want to make sure we give you the game in a state we can be proud of." Solasta 2 will aim to join the list of games that made great use of Early Access, which is a unique challenge for any any RPG.
Watching the new Solasta 2 trailer, it's clear that comparisons to Baldur's Gate 3 aren't merely superficial. Yes, it's easy to point and see obvious comparisons, but Solasta 2 also looks to have the quality to back it up. Its Steam page boasts it will allow players to "bathe in the familiarity of your Tabletop experience," and if it can deliver that, then there's no reason why Solasta 2 can't be an enormous hit.
Those who can't wait until 2026 to get their first taste of Solasta 2 don't have to. It currently has a free demo on Steam, although this is only a very small slice of what will be available to gamers upon the Early Access release. With Larian now busy developing its next titles, there's a gap in the market for a CRPG to tide genre fans over. Solasta 2 could be arriving at just the right time.
