2026 is set to be another amazing year for Solo Leveling. As anime fans wait for Solo Leveling Season 3 to enter production – or more realistically, wait for an upcoming Solo Leveling movie – everyone can rest assured that more Solo Leveling is officially on the way. Starring Byeon Woo-seok as protagonist Sung Jinwoo, Netflix's live-action K-Drama Solo Leveling remake has reportedly gotten a major production update courtesy of a job listing on Korean forums.

The job listing has officially revealed several key details about the Solo Leveling remake, including an episode count. Season 1 of the Solo Leveling live-action remake will be seven episodes long. Assuming episodes are roughly an hour long like Netflix's live-action One Piece series, this means that the Solo Leveling remake can cover just as much story as, if not more so than, the anime's first season. The listing also notes that filming begins this April. Depending on how quickly production moves on VFX for Sung Jinwoo's Shadows, Hunter abilities, and dungeon monsters, the Solo Leveling remake could very well release before the end of 2026.

Solo Leveling Will Enter Production For 7 New Episodes in 2026

Solo Leveling Fans Are Waiting For Season 3, But The Latest Update Is Very Worrying (1) (1)

The Korean forum job listing is specifically for a seven-part Netflix series, which lines up perfectly with Solo Leveling. Netflix's live-action adaptations are always on the shorter side, so logic would dictate that the posting is indeed for Solo Leveling. While fans might balk at only getting seven episodes for the live-action Solo Leveling's first season, it's important to remember that Netflix episodes are longer than traditional anime episodes.

Keep in mind that the Netflix live-action One Piece regularly runs for an hour for each episode, where anime episodes clock in at 22 minutes – which can be condensed down to just 20~ minutes, give or take, when you take openings, endings, and recaps into consideration. This means that Netflix's Solo Leveling live-action series will be able to cover far more ground in seven episodes than even the 12-epsiode first season of the anime.

How Much Story Will 2026's Solo Leveling Remake Cover?

Season 1 of the Solo Leveling anime is only 12-episodes long, with each episode running for roughly 25 minutes. The entirety of the first season clocks in at a little under six hours, covering 45 chapters of the manhwa and seven story arcs. Solo Leveling Season 1 ends with the Job Change arc where Sung Jinwoo defeats Igris and finally gains access to his Shadow Army. Since the live-action series will be an hour longer, Netflix's Solo Leveling could potentially cover even more material.

Jeju Island was amazing, but it will pale in comparison to Solo Leveling season 3's biggest arc.

Assuming the Netflix live-action series covers the same material as the anime, Season 1 of Solo Leveling's K-Drama could go as far as the Red Gate arc, potentially ending with a cliffhanger leading into the Demon Castle. If episodes truly do stretch a full hour, this also gives the live-action remake time to set up even more characters and events than the anime. Cha Hae-in could be introduced even earlier to set up her relationship with Sung Jinwoo, and characters like Thomas Andre could receive earlier debuts in order to set up their importance in later seasons.

Likewise, more time can be spent fleshing out dungeons, hunter lore, or even setting up the Monarchs War. Season 1 of the Solo Leveling anime made the wise decision to introduce Jeju Island earlier, in order to give the storyline greater impact in Season 2, so it makes perfect sense for Netflix to sew the seeds for Solo Leveling's endgame as soon as possible. Teases and Easter eggs prepping fans for Solo Leveling Ragnarok wouldn't be out of the question, either, though this would be much harder to pull off without heavily altering the story's pacing and structure.

When Will New Episodes of Solo Leveling Come Out?

With the live-action Solo Leveling beginning filming in April, a 2026 release for the seven new episodes certainly isn't out of the question. Depending on how fast production moves, filming could wrap up by June, allowing for a late December release. That said, nothing is confirmed at the moment. The anime has also set a precedent for January releases. If Netflix wants to keep its schedule consistent with the original anime, an early 2027 release isn't out of the question – but it all comes down to how quickly the VFX can be worked out for the series' main action sequences.

One way or another, 2026 is going to be a big year for Solo Leveling. Netflix's live-action K-Drama is entering production, it's only a matter of time before fans get news on either Season 3 (or more likely a movie), and Solo Leveling Ragnarok is moving full steam ahead, keeping the story alive in the manhwa's official sequel. Live-action, animated, or on the page, Sung Jinwoo's not going anywhere.
