As many fans know, Solo Leveling recently saw the release of a pretty popular video game, known as Solo Leveling Arise. In this video game, fans get to immerse themselves in the world established by Chugong and play as many beloved characters of the franchise. Surprisingly, Solo Leveling Arise even added new lore and interesting content to the series, for both characters such as Sung Jinwoo, and it is soon set to return to add lore to the likes of Igris on January 15, 2026.

  • Manhwa Chapter To Promote The New Playable Character in Solo Leveling Arise

Fans know Solo Leveling Arise to be incredibly exciting, but few expected it to add to the world established by Chugong as much as it did. The latest addition to Solo Leveling Arise will be a character known as Sian Halat. While fans might not recognize this name, it's actually the true identity of a fan favorite character: Igris. Igris is getting his own backstory finally revealed in a brand new Manhwa chapter to promote his addition to Solo Leveling Arise.

Jinwoo using Igris came after he learned how to extract the shadows of the enemies that fell, and since then, he's built a powerful army. When it comes to Sung Jinwoo’s incredible shadow army, it goes without saying that Igris is and will always be at the forefront of things. Igris was also the very first shadow that Jinwoo extracted, and this was when Jinwoo was actually weaker than him. Even the protagonist of the series admitted that Igris was a phenomenal individual with quite a tale to tell. Unfortunately, his past remained a big mystery in Solo Leveling.

Fans don't know much about him, but that's about to change. On January 15th, 2026, Igris is getting his backstory revealed through a new manhwa chapter. This is now officially confirmed after an announcement for his addition to the popular video game, Solo Leveling Arise. In other words, this backstory is being produced for Igris as a promotion for this big event. Naturally, fans can't wait to see what's in store for him.

“Finally, the one many Hunters have been waiting for is here. Igris, the most loyal sword of the Monarch of Shadows, comes to you under the name “Sian Halat.”

He will join as a powerful “Dark Element Elemental Stacker.” As previously teased, he will unleash overwhelming destructive power at the center of the new combat meta. Please look forward to his crimson slash that will sweep across the battlefield.” — Solo Leveling Arise Team

  • Igris’s Life As Sian Halat Will Be Interesting
  • Sian Halat is a Canon Character in Solo Leveling

Igris is a beloved character who is already in Solo Leveling Arise. The new unit joining, however, isn’t Igris, as fans know him to be. Instead, it is a new, alternative unit that will add a ton of lore to the character of Igris. This new character is Igris’s past identity, a character that is actually known as Sian Halat. Sian Halat is the human version of Igris before his death.

Sian Halat is still a mysterious character that Chugong, the creator of Solo Leveling, has briefly mentioned before. When it comes to tidbits Chugong has already revealed about him, fans know that, along with his name, Chugong also revealed that, he was a known knight who held the title of Igris of the battlefield, even in his human days.

Chugong has even stated that Sian originally wore silver armor to fight, but he later changed that due to how difficult it would be to clean after being stained in blood. This is how Igris’s iconic red armor came to be.

All this means that the identity of Sian Halat is canon to Igris's story, and not simply a video game addition for Solo Leveling Arise. At the moment, fans don't even know what Sian Halat looks like. His appearance was previously mentioned by Chugong, noting silver hair and blue eyes, but now, his design is completely revealed in Solo Leveling Arise.

With the upcoming backstory, fans will learn more about Igris, and everything that eventually led him to the path of becoming the right hand of Shadow Monarch in Solo Leveling. It’s unclear how canon the entire backstory will be, and how involved Chugong was in creating it, but at the very least, most elements will be true to the character that Chugong created.

While fans will always look forward to more new animated content, Solo Leveling video games are still an incredible way to receive more lore about the series. That is especially true as the video games take more liberties and explore different characters.

Solo Leveling: Arise will now showcase a new backstory with Igris, but it isn't the only video game that offers a lot of new lore.
