This article contains spoilers for the Solo Leveling series.
Solo Leveling is one of the biggest modern anime out there, and since its initial release in 2024, it's become a sensation. This series is action-packed, with amazing battles unfolding one after the other. Solo Leveling fans rarely have a moment to breathe as the series is quite fast-paced, both in terms of plot development and fights. Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist of the series, is Solo Leveling’s most popular character, and he has won fans over with his cool demeanor and immense battle prowess. However, his best moment might not be him in a battle at all.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Is Delayed, But A New Surprising Replacement Is Here
Solo Leveling's third season isn't coming anytime soon, but this Chinese anime will fill the spot until then.
Chugong, the creator of Solo Leveling, reveals his favorite moment in the story, and it has nothing to do with fighting, much to the surprise of the fans. Instead, he reveals that Jinwoo crying with his mother is his favorite moment in the entire story, and one that hit hard for him. This is more shocking as many Solo Leveling fans did not like this scene at all, which says a lot about the fanbase.
Chugong Reveals His Favorite Part Is Jinwoo Crying
- This Emotionally Charged Part Was the Creator’s Favorite
- He Also Liked the Red Gate Arc
Chugong, who wrote the Solo Leveling web novel, is always in touch with fans of his series and answers questions all the time. In that regard, Solo Leveling fans are very lucky, as they get insight into their favorite series like no other fans.
Solo Leveling Author Confirms Big Plans For A New Sequel Series
A new sequel might be coming for Solo Leveling as revealed by the original creator.
Recently, Chugong had an interview on LitRes, and he was asked about his favorite scene in Solo Leveling. Chugong mentioned he liked writing the Red Gate Arc, but his true favorite scene was the one where Jinwoo cries after healing his mother. This moment was emotionally charged and is one of the best scenes for Jinwoo’s character in Solo Leveling. For a moment, Jinwoo’s cool attitude is pushed to the side and his humanity is brought to the surface.
Chugong expressed how much this scene affected him, and made him cry while writing it:
“I really like the Red Gate arc—the one where the Shadow Army goes on its first expedition. The story, from the very beginning—the teacher’s request—to the end—the encounter with Baek Yoonho—was written as a single game-like quest. I fondly remember how much fun it was to write that part. But if you were to ask me what my favorite scene is, it would be the moment when Jinwoo cries. The moment when he answers his mother, who has just awakened from her long sleep, and tells her how hard it has been for him. To be honest, that scene reminded me of my own difficult past, and I ended up crying along with him.” — Chugong
Jinwoo’s Cool Moments Are What Make Him Popular, But The Emotional Moments Are Where He Really Shines
- Many Fans Disliked Jinwoo’s Moment With His Mother
- It Was One Of Solo Leveling’s Highlights
Quite a lot of fans are surprised to hear that the scene where Jinwoo cries is Chugong’s favorite. After all, this is one of the rare moments where Jinwoo lets his human side show in the story. This scene also received quite a lot of backlash in the anime from fans who believed it ruined Jinwoo’s aura. But in truth, this is definitely one of the highlights of Solo Leveling and a breath of fresh air in a series dominated by action.
Solo Leveling has two seasons out right now, one with 12 episodes, and the other with 13, for a combined episode count of 25 episodes available to watch right now. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season. For fans who can’t wait for season 3 to come out, checking out the manhwa might be a great option.
