This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Solo Leveling is home to the strongest hunter in anime right now, Sung Jinwoo. He is so strong that even fans love comparing him to other powerful anime characters such as Naruto Uzumaki, Son Goku, and most recently, the elf mage Frieren. Even in his own universe, no hunter comes close to Jinwoo since he became a player in the system created by the architect and rose to power.

However, one Solo Leveling character has the guts and power to stand against Jinwoo, regardless of the power difference. Killing Jinwoo seems impossible to achieve, but this character can make it happen in the most unexpected way. This only proves that even the strongest character can still perish as long as the perfect timing and conditions have been met.

It’s Not Impossible to Kill Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling

Sung Jinwoo Died in Season 1

Before Jinwoo received the power over the dead, he was always at death’s door. Most probably, his fellow hunters often expected him as a casualty during dungeon raids because of his feeble body and pathetic magic output. But because of his determination to live another day, on top of his absurd luck and the many healers he worked with, he was able to make the impossible possible by surviving from one dungeon to another.

However, fans know that Sung Jinwoo almost ran out of luck when he entered the double dungeon and faced the giant statues in Season 1. It was impossible for an E-rank hunter like Jinwoo to stay alive while facing a horde of giant statues armed with deadly weapons coming his way. As expected, he dies a horrible death, with his blood pouring on the magic circle. Thankfully, it was only temporary.

Because I was at the rock bottom, I longed for the highest place. I know the sadness of being weak more than anyone.—Sung Jinwoo

As the plot unfolds in Solo Leveling, fans know very well that Jinwoo becomes an overpowered main character. No S-rank hunter comes close to him, not even Choi Jong-In, who’s known as The Ultimate Soldier. Still, despite everything he has acquired in his journey to the top of the ranks, from S-level weapons to elite shadows, it’s possible to kill Jinwoo, as demonstrated by one powerful character.

The Beast Monarch Rakan Will Kill Sung Jinwoo

Sung Jinwoo Could Die in Season 3

To kill Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, one must possess monstrous power, absurd luck, and a reliable ally to carve an opening for a fatal attack. It’s easier said than done, knowing Jinwoo is the successor of the formidable Shadow Monarch, said to be the strongest of his kind. But surprisingly, the Beast Monarch, Rakan, kills Jinwoo after going above and beyond to weaken him.

During the Monarchs’ invasion of Seoul, Rakan collaborated with fellow Monarchs Sillad and Quehrehsha to kill Sung Jinwoo before he receives the full power of the Shadow Monarch. It’s a battle of three against one, with Jinwoo fighting by himself. While he has enough power to fight toe-to-toe with three Monarchs at once, it's still difficult to outpace his enemies.

You pride yourself on your agility, but I guess you're nothing without it.—Rakan to Sung Jinwoo

As a result, Jinwoo suffers a direct hit from the back, which leads to his untimely demise at some point in the match. While he was preoccupied with fighting Sillad, he lost his focus on the Beast Monarch, who was planning to take his life from behind. Rakan punctures Jinwoo’s heart with his claw, ruthlessly killing him in the process. These events might get animated in Solo Leveling Season 3, provided that it will cover the Monarchs' War arc.

Killing Jinwoo Is Just the Beginning of Something Bigger

Even Death Won’t Stop Jinwoo

Rakan may be successful in killing Jinwoo, but his victory won’t last long. Of course, the author of Solo Leveling won’t kill Jinwoo for good unless he wants a tragic ending for the tragic hunter. After Rakan gave the fatal blow to Jinwoo, his black heart, which he previously acquired in the double dungeon, started beating. At this point, manhwa fans knew that something amazing was about to happen.

True enough, Sung Jinwoo comes back from the dead to the horror of Rakan. Of all the Monarchs in Solo Leveling, Rakan fears the Shadow Monarch the most, so he wasted no time when he saw what happened to Jinwoo. He immediately escaped from Seoul, in fear that Jinwoo would come after him. Unfortunately, running away wouldn’t do any good for Rakan, as Jinwoo quickly came for vengeance.

All in all, death won’t stop Jinwoo from coming back to Solo Leveling. Messing with him comes at a huge cost, so it’s recommended to stay away from his path as much as possible, or else they’ll end up losing their lives like what happened to Rakan. Still, killing Jinwoo is an impressive feat even though Rakan had to go to extreme lengths just to die in the end as well.
