The market was absolutely dominated by Solo Leveling, but now, a few months after its conclusion, it seems a lot of fans have lost interest and have instead moved on to other series. Solo Leveling was definitely big. Season 1 of the anime was a huge hit and put the series on fans’ radar, but Season 2 really propelled its popularity. Fans from all around the world couldn’t get enough of this series. That said, now, a couple of months after its second season ended, it seems people have gotten over the series. The anime isn’t discussed much anymore, and fans seem to have moved on to other anime series, such as Kaiju No. 8.

Solo Leveling season 3 is getting some big news, and very soon.
Kaiju No. 8 first came out the same year as Solo Leveling, in 2024, and it has definitely been gaining popularity. Right now, it’s one of Crunchyroll’s most popular and watched series. Its story and characters seem to appeal to a large audience, and it’s definitely being carried by a good anime adaptation, especially since its manga abruptly ended not too long ago. Kaiju No. 8 could definitely do better next year during Crunchyroll’s 2026 awards.

Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year for 2025, and it's only natural that fans are wondering if the series can win this title again in 2026 with Solo Leveling Season 2. Solo Leveling definitely has a shot, but it’s hard to say if it will win, as competition will be harder. It’s also important to note that Solo Leveling most likely won’t have the advantage of having a new season airing while the awards take place, something that definitely skews fan voting.

That said, it still has a fair shot of being the best anime next year. Competing with it will be anime like Dandadan, Kaiju No. 8, and even Takopi's Original Sin, which makes it very hard for Solo Leveling to win.

The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season.
