This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling series.

Summary

  • Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year
  • Series became most-watched in Crunchyroll
  • A-1 Pictures incurred $1.2 million loss

Solo Leveling is, undoubtedly, one of the most popular anime at the moment. Fans have come to love the series over the years, largely due to the incredible action it features, and things are only going to get more intense from here onwards. Solo Leveling Season 1 was a big success, but not nearly as big as Season 2, which almost took over the world, becoming the most popular anime in the process, and even clinching the title of Anime of the Year in the process.

Now, all fans can do is think about what's next, that is, Solo Leveling Season 3. While excitement for Solo Leveling Season 3 is already through the roof, fans know very well that the series has its own hurdles to face and overcome, and the latest update from A-1 Pictures, the studio behind Solo Leveling, seems to be very worrying.

Solo Leveling Is The Biggest Anime Right Now

  • Solo Leveling Won Anime Of The Year
  • The Series Became The Most Watched In Crunchyroll History

It is no surprise to know that Solo Leveling is absolutely massive. Even when the first season of the series came out, fans knew that it would eventually go on to become a sensation, simply based on the quality battles that the anime delivered consistently. Of course, giving the fans deep lore and great worldbuilding isn't its biggest strength. In that regard, Solo Leveling might not even be among the Top 100 anime, but when it comes to doing fights and delivering intense action with a touch of badassery, hardly anime anime comes close to Solo Leveling.

I feel I lose something inside me the stronger I get. — Sung Jinwoo

It is the extremely intense action that led to Solo Leveling Season 2 winning Anime of the Year, and Jinwoo's rather cool personality also helped him clinch the award for the best main character. Clearly, Solo Leveling has been doing more than enough to attract the fans as it ended up becoming the most watched anime in Crunchyroll history as well, which is absolutely incredible. But, even then, Solo Leveling Season 3 faces a big issue, which stems from the studio.

A-1 Pictures Incurred A Massive Loss Recently

A Loss of $1.2 Million Was Reported

Solo Leveling is produced by A-1 Pictures, and while the studio has done incredibly well when it comes to this series featuring Sung Jinwoo, it hasn't been doing as well otherwise. Furthermore, while Solo Leveling is a phenomenon in the West, Japan doesn't seem to think anything special of it. There, Solo Leveling is just another anime. All that is to say that A-1 Pictures find themselves in trouble, as it was recently reported that they suffered a major monetary loss this year of 178 million yen. This is absolutely massive, especially when it comes on the back of them having profited by 24 million yen the year before.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Could Potentially Be Affected If Losses Keep Up

Naturally, fans are now worried about Solo Leveling Season 3, as is expected. For now, nobody has reported anything about Solo Leveling Season 3 being in trouble because of the recent losses, but it could very well affect the project as a whole. Still, fans should rest easy as Solo Leveling Season 3 will come, one way or another.

Solo Leveling Season 2 finished airing this year. Fans can watch the first two seasons of the series on Crunchyroll, and, in doing so, support the official release of the anime. So far, there isn't much information out about Solo Leveling Season 3, but more information will be available later this year.
