This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.
Sung Jinwoo, the strongest hunter in Solo Leveling, has been through a wild ride from Season 1 to Season 2. He started at the very bottom of the ranks, crawling his way up until the strongest hunters in Korea acknowledged him. At the same time, his appearance also improved, all thanks to the major glow-up he received from the system.
Gone is the baby-faced Jinwoo, which many fans miss in Solo Leveling. Now, he can join any modeling agency or beauty competition because of his height, handsome looks, and sharp features. Jinwoo looks so much better now, but Solo Leveling Season 3 is going to give him yet another major glow-up, and here’s why.
Solo Leveling: 7 Characters Who Will Likely Not Be In Season 3
Despite leaving a lasting impression on the viewers, these characters are unlikely to feature in Solo Leveling's third season.
Sung Jin-Woo's Major Glow Up in Solo Leveling
From Baby-Faced to Chiseled Hunter
The early story arcs of Solo Leveling featured a Sung Jinwoo who looked nothing like the strongest hunter in Korea right now. He had soft and delicate features which many fans find adorable and youthful. In addition, his build was scrawny, almost as if he didn’t receive proper nutrition due to the unfortunate situation of his family. Not to mention, his shoulders and arms were so thin, it looked like they could break just by wielding a sword.
But, as fans know, Jinwoo eventually received a major glow-up after the system chose him as its sole player. In just a short amount of time, he gained muscles and a toned body to die for. It’s almost as if Jinwoo went inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber from Dragon Ball due to his rapid and drastic transformation. It’s not just his build that was unrecognizable, but also his facial features.
"It's embarrassing to call myself a hunter. Not only do I get hurt all the time, but near-death experiences are nothing new to me."—Sung Jin-Woo
At this point, most fans call Jinwoo “Chinwoo” because of his sharp chin. Some even joke that Jinwoo’s chin will grow sharper as long as he continues to level up in Solo Leveling. Beyond Jinwoo’s iconic chin, he has turned into an eye candy or an “ikemen,” for many female characters. He could pass as an idol or an actor due to his handsome looks, but that’s not going to happen.
A-1 Pictures Might Give Jinwoo a Glow-Up in Season 3
Season 1 and Season 2 Jinwoo Looks Different
- A-1 Pictures might change Jinwoo's look in Solo Leveling Season 3.
- Jinwoo looks different in Seasons 1 and 2.
It’s not unusual for anime characters, especially the protagonists, to receive a new look as more seasons roll out. Solo Leveling was no exception, as Sung Jinwoo looked different not just because of the glow-up he received in Season 1 but also because of his character design as well as the art style in Season 2.
In Solo Leveling Season 2, Jinwoo had a more composed and refined appearance than his overall look and vibe in Season 1 after he became a player. He also looked more mature, without any traces of the boyish or teenage softness that once defined his facial features in Season 2. Because of this, it will not be surprising if Jinwoo gets another glow-up in Solo Leveling Season 3 thanks to A-1 Pictures.
Solo Leveling Season 3 is expected to be an essential season for Sung Jinwoo’s growth and rise to power. Manhwa fans know that Jinwoo is going to inherit a highly valuable artifact from the original Shadow Monarch, which could grow the darkness within him. And the more Jinwoo levels up, the more his appearance will change in the next season.
The Black Heart Will Also Change Jinwoo's Look
Jinwoo Will Become the True Shadow Monarch
The moment Jinwoo receives the Black Heart from the Shadow Monarch Ashborn, his powers will surge to unprecedented levels. He will overcome his limits, and his mana supply and magic output will be amplified. With the Black Heart in Jinwoo’s possession, he will have a more imposing appearance, reflecting the immense strength and darkness that’s flowing in his body.
As mentioned above, Sung Jinwoo will continue to change as long as he levels up and gains more power in Solo Leveling. Besides that, A-1 Pictures can still alter Jinwoo’s appearance, giving him a major glow-up next season to reflect the power he possesses in the anime. But no matter how different Jinwoo becomes, he will always be the most affectionate son to his family and the most devoted protector to those under his watch.
