This article contains spoilers from Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer.
Solo Leveling Season 2 wrapped up earlier this year, and since then, fans have been desperately waiting for a confirmation on the third season of the series. Even though the end of the year is approaching, there is no word on Solo Leveling Season 3 so far. All fans know is that there are plans being made behind the scenes, and that, at the very least, Solo Leveling won't be making a return in Winter 2026.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Won’t Be The End Of The Series
Demon Slayer is a major series, and it won't end with the Infinity Castle movies.
However, while Solo Leveling Season 3 might not be headed fans’ way anytime soon, recent reports suggest something even bigger is coming up. Solo Leveling could potentially be getting a movie sequel in 2026, which means the franchise aims for major global success on the big screen, especially after seeing what Demon Slayer achieved this year. Speaking of Demon Slayer, Solo Leveling getting a big new movie means it'll have some tough competition in 2026.

Production Reports Reveal Plans For A Big Movie
- Demon Slayer's strategy has opened the gate for canon anime movie adaptations
- Solo Leveling could conclude its story with a big movie
The reports of Solo Leveling getting a new movie shouldn't come as a surprise to any fan of the series. Chugong himself teased the idea of a movie being talked about recently, and every major anime studio is probably thinking of doing a major movie after seeing what Demon Slayer achieved this year with Infinity Castle Part 1.
You're the one who's going to hell, Muzan! I'm coming for you. — Tanjiro to Muzan in Infinity Castle
Anime is going mainstream, and it's bigger than ever before. This also means anime can now generate bigger numbers than ever before when it comes to the box office. With Demon Slayer's success, more anime series will start looking into movie sequels instead of anime seasons, sad as that may be, and Solo Leveling seems like it is one of them.
Solo Leveling Is Making A Comeback in November
Solo Leveling is returning, and very soon. As early as November.
According to plans from the Solo Leveling production committee, which surfaced recently, it seems that the next step for Solo Leveling isn't Season 3, but instead a new movie. This movie is in the pre-production phase right now, which means real work on it hasn't begun yet. But, it is projected for a late 2026 release at the moment. Given how big Solo Leveling is, Demon Slayer will be rivaled in 2026.

Demon Slayer Faces A Big Challenge in 2026
Solo Leveling, The Apothecary Diaries, and even One Piece Could Rival It
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle did incredible numbers this year, becoming the highest-grossing movie in Japan, as well as the highest-grossing international movie in the US. It is the biggest anime movie of all time. But, Solo Leveling is only growing in terms of popularity. If Solo Leveling does get a movie in 2026, Demon Slayer will face big competition. Still, as far as box office revenue goes, it probably won't match Demon Slayer. But, when it comes to fan ratings and overall score, it is more than likely that the Solo Leveling movie will surpass Demon Slayer.
Solo Leveling is already the most popular anime at the moment, and it is also the most reviewed anime on Crunchyroll. Solo Leveling's ratings are always insanely high, so for it to beat Demon Slayer when it comes to fan ratings and steal its throne is certainly possible. Either way, fans should brace themselves for a major 2026 Solo Leveling release.
Solo Leveling has two seasons out right now, one with 12 episodes, and the other with 13, for a combined episode count of 25 episodes available to watch right now. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy while awaiting any more news concerning the third season. For fans who can’t wait for season 3 to come out, checking out the Manhwa might be a great option.
