Solo Leveling producers recently took to Reddit to answer many questions about the show, including their favorite episodes from Season 2. With the end of Solo Leveling Season 2, fans have been hoping that Season 3 will soon be officially announced.

While there is no official word, there have been many rumors about the current situation of the series. One of these rumors states that Season 3 has been greenlit internally, but it would take a little longer to start production because the director has other ongoing projects.

Solo Leveling fans finally know why the studio makes changes in the anime.

The Favorite Episodes Of Solo Leveling Producers

Atsushi Kaneko and Sota Furuhashi recently answered some questions about the series on Reddit's r/animation board — of course, their identities were confirmed by the moderation, and this was part of a collaboration with Crunchyroll.

Kaneko's Favorite Episode From Season 2

Kaneko said that his favorite episode from Season 2 was Episode 24 (Season 2 Episode 12), with the amazing Jinwoo VS. Beru battle. In his opinion, this episode not only has beautiful animation, but it also feels like a culmination of Jinwoo's journey, showing his human side.

For me, Episode 24 from Season 2 stands out. It brought together an incredible level of animation and emotion, and it felt like a culmination of everything Jinwoo had been through. To add to that—back in the first arc, during the dungeon altar scene, Jinwoo is broken, bleeding, and still shows empathy. But it’s also the first time he allows himself to ask, “Why is this happening to me?” That honesty made him feel like a real, vulnerable human being. In that moment, I saw something of myself in him.

He also added that this episode has twice as many frames (17,000) as regular episode of the series (8,000–10,000) — episodes also took about 10–12 months to be completed, and this one was probably one of the ones that took a year.

Furuhashi's Favorite Episode From Season 2

Furuhashi, on the other hand, said that his favorit episode is Episode 21 (Season 2 Episode 9), when Jinwoo's mother is finally revived — in his opinion, this scene shows very well why Jinwoo did everything he did, and it is very touching. Unfortunately, many fans complained that the scene where Jinwoo meets his mother once again was "too cheesy" when the episode was released.

I’d say Episode 21, when Jinwoo’s mother is revived. So much of the series focuses on action and battles, but we don’t often explain why he’s fighting. That scene finally reveals the emotional core behind his journey. Even in the webtoon, it was one of the most moving moments for me.

Furuhashi also added that he first learned about Solo Leveling in 2019 and thought the series would make a great anime — and then he initiated the anime project within Aniplex. He later also explained that it is a challenge to adapt short chapters into 30-minute episodes, and they focus more on the emotional flow rather than the order of events, also taking into account the audience.

Both Kaneko and Furuhashi said that Solo Leveling is different from any other project they have done, and they are not sure if they will ever work on something of the same scale or with the same impact. While Furuhashi imagined that the anime would become popular, he never expected it be as big as it has become.

What Do We Know About Solo Leveling Season 3?

As previously mentioned, there is no official information about Season 3 yet. Everything that has been circulating is either a rumor or a leak (and we will only know if they are leaks whe n the official information is out).

So, according to rumors, Season 3 has already been greenlit, but there are some things in the way right now, including the director being busy with other projects. Kaneko and Furuhashi only said that they need a lot of energy from fans to keep working on the series. Given the popularity of the series, it seems highly unlikely that Season 3 will not eventually be announced.

However, considering how much seasons 1 and 2 have already covered, there is a fair chance that Season 3 will be the final one — if that is the case, they would probably want to create a good marketing strategy before announcing it. If they are still discussing how to adapt the remaining arcs, this could be part of the reason why the continuation of the anime hasn't been properly announced yet.

For now, there's not much fans can do but wait for news. Keeping an eye on rumors can help, but it's always better to keep in mind that there is always a chance that they are false, so take anything that is not official with a grain of salt.
