This season finale introduced a character so powerful that even Sung Jinwoo doesn’t have the power to defeat him, for now, at least.

Season 2 Finale of Solo Leveling Introduces a Hunter Stronger than Even Sung Jinwoo

Liu Zhigang, The Chinese National Level Hunter

Solo Leveling was a massive hit and definitely a step up from Season 1. Its season 1 was a huge success, and season 2 even more so. Solo Leveling Season 2 has, unfortunately, just recently ended, with its finale episode dropping just days ago. This episode was certainly a very highly anticipated one. This season ended things on a calmer note as the Jeju Raid finally wrapped up, while also introducing some new interesting characters.

One of the new characters that were just introduced in this last episode was none other than a Hunter known as Liu Zhigang.

Fans who have not yet read the manhwa don’t know who this man is. The only thing fans can tell from his anime appearance is that he is very strong, as he fought off and slaughtered ants off of the Chinese east coast. Indeed, Liu Zhigang is one of the few S-Rank Hunters that are so strong that they qualify as National Level Hunters. To become a National Level Hunter, one must be able to clear an S-rank gate on their own. This is something Liu Zhigang is more than capable of.

Liu Zhigang would be, for example, more than capable of defeating the Ant Queen and the Ant King. At the moment, in the story, Liu Zhigang surpasses Sung Jinwoo in power. Currently, he is definitely the strongest Hunter in all of Asia.

His powers were only seen for a second in Season 2, but even a small glimpse was enough to tell that he's far above the other S-Rank Hunters of Korea and Japan. If he were involved in the raid on Jeju, he could've possibly finished it by himself, which goes to show that he possesses a much higher level of skill when compared to the others.

Will Sung Jinwoo Ever Surpass Liu Zhigang?

Jinwoo Should Go Beyond Him In Solo Leveling Season 3

Currently, Liu Zhigang is stronger than the main protagonist of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo. However, this won’t be the case forever.

Sung Jinwoo’s potential is almost infinite, and he has the ability to surpass pretty much anyone, given the time. Liu Zhigang is a force to be reckoned with, but he won’t be the top Hunter in Asia for very long. Jinwoo and his abilities ensure that he's going to reach the very top, and rather quickly.

Where To Watch Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling has been one of the most popular anime of recent years. This is greatly thanks to its fast paced battle scenes which are sure to leave anyone hooked. Right now, the series has two seasons. Solo Leveling Season 1 has 12 episodes, while Season 2 has 13. Now that Solo Leveling season 2 has finished airing, fans can binge it, alongside the first season, both available on Crunchyroll. Solo Leveling Season 3 is definitely coming as well, but it could take some time, sadly for fans of the series. In the meanwhile, reading the Manhwa could be a great option for fans who can’t wait for Season 3 of Solo Leveling.
