During the proceedings of the Aniplex Online Fest event on Monday, the release window of the second season of Solo Leveling was revealed alongside an eye-catching key visual and news that a Solo Leveling compilation film, titled Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- is also in the works, recapping the events of the first season of the anime including the first two episodes of the upcoming second season.

The second season, Solo Leveling: Arise From the Shadow, is set for release in January 2025, and will be streamed on Crunchyroll, while the theatrical release of Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- will take place in Japan and Korea in November.

A teaser trailer for the upcoming second season was released during Anime Expo, which was held back in July. Season 1 director Shunsuke Nakashige will continue in that capacity for season 2, which will also be animated by staff at A-1 Pictures and continue adapting the manhwa created by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong and h-goon. A key visual was also released, featuring series protagonist Sung Jinwoo and a plethora of his Shadow Soldiers. Jinwoo is voiced by Taito Ban and Aleks Le. More cast and staff information will be released in the coming months, but it is likely that not many changes will be made.

2024 has been a very busy year for the Solo Leveling IP, with the anime adaptation, a mobile game titled Solo Leveling ARISE, a documentary about the production of the series and the extent of its popularity and even a return of the original manhwa with a story that follows Jinwoo's son.

After a successful first season, which had been highly anticipated for years, the second season will most likely have to face raised expectations from fans who will be very glad to know that they can expect more Solo Leveling very soon. The first season of the Solo Leveling anime aired from January to March 2024, running for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired, as well as the behind-the-scenes doccie.

The second season, Solo Leveling: Arise From the Shadow, will premiere in January 2025.
