This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.
Solo Leveling may be all about Jin-Woo and his rise to power, but some high-level hunters also deserve a moment to shine. One of them is S-rank hunter Cha Hae-In, who is best known as the second in command in the Hunters Guild led by Korea’s Ultimate Soldier, Choi Jong-In.
However, Cha Hae-In's role is not as big as Jin-Woo in Solo Leveling. Unless the anime adaptation switches things up and expands on her character more, Cha Hae-In will eventually be overshadowed by Jin-Woo. Still, Solo Leveling Season 3 is shaping up to be the best time for Cha Hae-In's first major fight against a powerful yet familiar opponent. She has unfinished business, and Season 3 will finally give her a chance to settle the score.
Solo Leveling: How Different Is Cha Hae-in From Lee Joo-Hee?
Both have a close relationship with Jin-Woo, but how different is Cha Hae-In from Lee Joo Hee?
Cha Hae-In Is the Most Powerful Female Hunter
No Female Hunter Comes Close to Cha Hae-In
- Cha Hae-In is a highly capable female S-rank hunter.
- Cha Hae-In needs an upgrade or a second awakening to grow stronger.
While there are a lot of female hunters in Solo Leveling, no one comes close to Cha Hae-In's level when it comes to strength, speed, magic output, and probably all other respects. She is near perfect, someone who awakened with extraordinary abilities as if she were destined to be a top-notch hunter from the very beginning. Her way with the sword is unmatched, yet she still strives to improve her skills.
It’s safe to assume that Cha Hae-In is the strongest female hunter in the series. Even her opponent in the joint training with Japan’s S-rank hunters, Kanae Tawata, is nowhere near Cha Hae-In's strength and speed. Their short but intense fight proves that Cha Hae-In is a difficult opponent to outpace, especially in a solo matchup. She had the upper hand from the start to the end of the match, after all.
Unfortunately, as much as fans would love to see Cha Hae-In grow stronger in Solo Leveling, there are walls that she simply cannot break through. It’s no secret that most hunters are incapable of growing stronger, no matter how hard they train, and Cha Hae-In is no exception. She might be the perfect candidate to receive an upgrade or a power spike from Norma Selner, but her strength would only improve to a certain extent, unlike Jin-Woo.
Cha Hae-In's First Major Fight Will Happen in Season 3
Cha Hae-In's Rematch With the Ant King Beru
- Cha Hae-In will fight Beru in the Ahjin Guild Arc.
- Cha Hae-In wants to fight by Jin-Woo's side.
Cha Hae-In had a disappointing display of power in the J eju Island arc of Solo Leveling Season 2. She went from being the main attacker of the S-rank hunters raiding the Ant Queen and her children to being the damsel in distress who required Sung Jin-Woo's help real quick. She was supposed to be the MVP of the group, but the Ant King knocked her unconscious effortlessly.
This experience fueled Cha Hae-In's desire to grow stronger, redeem herself, and fight by Jin-Woo's side. But to keep up with Jin-Woo, she needs to join the Ahjin Guild before anyone else can. During her application, Jin-Woo pitted her against the shadow of Blood-Red Commander Igris and later against the shadow of the Ant King, Beru. Her opponents are elite shadows, but Cha Hae-In won’t give up without a fight.
This raid mission made me realize my own limitations.—Cha Hae-In
Cha Hae-In is no quitter, as her perseverance and willingness to overcome the shadow of the Ant King drive her to keep pushing forward. She might be reckless in Jin-Woo's eyes, but her courage and resolve are exactly what set her apart from the rest of the female hunters. Whether Cha Hae-In wins or loses against Beru, her determination to rise beyond her limits will make a significant impression on Jin-Woo.
Cha Hae-In Will Impress Jin-Woo With Her Strength
Cha Hae-In Will Also Fight Igris
It’s only natural for Sung Jin-Woo to underestimate Cha Hae-In after her near-death situation on Jeju Island. He never expects a lot from her, especially in a solo match against one of his formidable shadows, Igris. However, Cha Hae-In makes sure that every swing of her backup sword proves her worth, showing Jin-Woo that she is far from fragile and can stand on the battlefield without support.
In a match with Igris during the Ahjin Guild Arc, Cha Hae-In demonstrates her terrifying strength. In just a short amount of time, Cha Hae-In defeated Igris, forcing Jin-Woo to call for the Ant King, Beru, as her next opponent. This is not what Jin-Woo expected, as he initially believed Cha Hae-In would struggle and lose against Igris in Solo Leveling.
