This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Beating Sung Jin-Woo in Solo Leveling is near-impossible to achieve. He is the strongest hunter to ever emerge in Korea, with a power that no other hunter or dungeon boss could ever match. Sung Jin-Woo is almost untouchable at this point, but that doesn’t mean that no Solo Leveling villain can stand up to him and humble him.

Back in Solo Leveling Season 2, Sung Jin-Woo defeated the highly mutated Ant King without exerting so much effort. Fights, however, will not be as easy in Solo Leveling Season 3, as one of the strongest villains will give Jin-Woo an unforgettable battle that will almost break him. This villain has been hidden in plain sight, and they have been quietly observing Jin-Woo, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

  • Jin-Woo will face the Architect in a crucial fight in Season 3.
  • The Architect is the hidden boss of the giant statues in Season 1.

The Architect or Moderator of the System, otherwise known to many fans as Kandiaru, is one of the most terrifying beings in the world of Solo Leveling. Manhwa fans are familiar with the creepy appearance of this being, and the same can be said for his extraordinary abilities. Of all the villains in the series created by Chugong, the Architect is the only one who could nullify or deactivate Jin-Woo's formidable shadow army.

During the Double Dungeon Arc, Kandiaru removes Jin-Woo's shadows on the battlefield, leaving the strongest hunter to fend for himself. This means that Jin-Woo will fight at full risk, without the support of Beru, Igris, and the rest of his elite shadows. His efforts to gather the strongest shadows will mean nothing, as his usual advantages are stripped away, forcing him to adapt as fast as possible.

In many ways, Jin-Woo's fight with Kandiaru in the Double Dungeon will surely remind fans of his showdown with Igris during the job-change quest in Solo Leveling Season 1. Both fights force Jin-Woo to evolve and confront enemies under extreme pressure, highlighting his individual strength, tactical genius, and adaptability. Fans were thrilled with Jin-Woo's fight with Igris, making his encounter with Kandiaru all the more exciting and nerve-wracking.

Solo Leveling Jinwoo New Transformation Season 3

It’s rare for fans to see Jin-Woo on the losing end of a difficult fight in Solo Leveling ever since he became a player in the System. Usually, Sung Jin-Woo has the upper hand in battle, and no one expects him to lose. In other words, he is rarely challenged by opponents who truly push him to his limits. However, in Solo Leveling Season 3, the Architect will make Jin-Woo doubt himself and eventually put him in a trance-like state—a sight fans have never witnessed before.

This happens after Jin-Woo exceeded the Architect’s expectations in a life-or-death battle where only one of them would survive. Fighting against the Architect, who wields similar abilities to his own, and simultaneously dodging the attacks of the giant statues of the Double Dungeon under a ticking timer will nearly break Jin-Woo's mental state. He will doubt himself whether he will live or die, as the combination of physical danger and mental strain pushes him to the brink of collapse.

The System uses me, and I use the System.—Sung Jin-Woo

Still, Jin-Woo is Jin-Woo, and fans know that he possesses immense potential. The more he struggles, the faster he grows in battle. This makes him a difficult opponent to outmaneuver, as fighting against him feels like a losing game. And in this game, the one destined to lose will be the Architect, whose dream of seeing Ashborn’s descent into the human world will be shattered.

Anime-only fans are not aware of the true purpose behind the existence of the System, but Solo Leveling Season 3 is expected to reveal the truth. As revealed in the manhwa, the System was designed to find the most ideal vessel for the original Shadow Monarch, who goes by the name Ashborn. Long story short, Jin-Woo is that vessel, and Ashborn is expected to take over his body, much like how the other Monarchs descended on the planet.

However, with Jin-Woo's victory against the Architect, on top of the Shadow Monarch’s unexpected betrayal, the System will fail to maintain control and achieve its true purpose. Most certainly, fans will see yet another phenomenal display of power courtesy of Sung Jin-Woo in the Double Dungeon, as he remains undefeated by winning against the Architect.
