Sung Jinwoo is the main lead of Solo Leveling, so naturally he is involved in all the main arcs. The first two seasons of the anime have extensively covered the hero's growth as a fighter. In the beginning, he was merely an E-rank Hunter who couldn't handle the weakest monsters.
However, the Double Dungeon incident changed him completely, and he ended up becoming a person with unlimited potential. Since then, Jinwoo has continued to grow, and by the end of Solo Leveling Season 2, he had become the strongest Hunter in Korea.

Sung Jinwoo's efforts during the Jeju Island Raid made him a global sensation. People throughout the world learned about the new S-rank Hunter from Korea who single-handedly thwarted the threat of the Jeju Island Ants. The hero's efforts also landed him Beru, the Ant King, whom he awakened as a Shadow Soldier. While Jinwoo did become Korea's strongest Hunter, there are several other characters who can best him in combat, and Thomas Andre is one of them.
Anime-only fans don't know much about Thomas Andre, as he hardly had any screen time, but those who have read the web novel are well aware of this behemoth. Thomas Andre is a National-level Hunter who fought Kamish, said to be the biggest threat to humankind. Kamish murdered hundreds of Hunters, and he would have likely wiped out the entire human race if the National-level Hunters hadn't stopped him.
Thomas Andre was among the five Hunters who took a stand against Kamish and stopped his rampage. Considering the episode count of the first two seasons, it's likely that the third season will have a similar number of episodes. So, the third season will, at the max, include four arcs. Based on the chronological order of the arcs, the anime will end before the International Guild Conference Arc. If the anime does follow the same schedule, then Sung Jinwoo will be weaker than Thomas Andre. Therefore, the hero won't be the strongest character in Season 3.

As previously stated, Thomas Andre is much superior to Jinwoo, and it will likely remain that way until Season 4. However, Jinwoo will eventually overtake him once he levels up more and gets the hang of his powers. When he overtakes Thomas Andre, Sung Jinwoo will set his sights on becoming stronger than the Monarchs, as they're intent on murdering him. Unlike Hunters, Monarchs are not humans. They are armed with immensely powerful abilities, which can be used to annihilate enemies within seconds.
Even Thomas Andre was unable to stand up to their might. The Monarchs appeared in the second season, which increases the likelihood of them reappearing in the subsequent installment.
Considering the quality of the remainder of the arcs, it's hardly surprising why fans are so desperate for the third season. Unfortunately, the studio has provided no information regarding the matter, which is rather shocking. The second season of the anime was a massive success, so fans were expecting an announcement regarding Season 3 immediately after the anime finished airing. It has been over five months since Season 2 ended, and still there is no official update on the situation.
A lot of rumors have been floating around, which seem to suggest that Solo Leveling Season 3 will air sometime in 2028. Some staff members who worked on the anime have asked fans for their support to make Solo Leveling Season 3 happen. The lack of updates is likely due to the studio being too busy with other projects or because it can't quite figure out how to tackle the production of Solo Leveling Season 3. Hopefully, A-1 Pictures will sort it out quickly and share new information with fans, who have been waiting for a long time.
