This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Sung Jinwoo's life changed drastically ever since he stepped foot inside Solo Leveling's Double Dungeon. As the weakest Hunter, there was almost zero chance of him surviving the brutality, but somehow he managed to live. After enduring the horrors, Jinwoo became the Player with access to the System.
Initially, he had many questions about the System, but slowly, he began to understand it. In Solo Leveling Season 2, Jinwoo came face-to-face with many dangerous opponents, and it took a great deal of effort to overcome them. The third season of Solo Leveling will see the hero pitted against even more powerful enemies, and he will need help.
Solo Leveling Season 3: Jinwoo Will Be Very Important, But 1 Character Will Play An Even Bigger Role
Solo Leveling season 3 will highlight a character even more than Jinwoo.
Sung Jinwoo Might Finally Meet His Father In Solo Leveling Season 3
Sung Il-Hwan Will Jinwoo's Biggest Ally
- Sung Il-Hwan wants to protect Jinwoo
- Sung Jinwoo has not seen his father in years
For a period of time, Jinwoo lived with just his sister, but that changed when he obtained the Elixir of Life and used it on his mother. He went through an arduous journey to find the ingredients needed to create the Elixir, because to Jinwoo, his family is the most important thing, and he would do anything to protect them. After two seasons, only one person is missing from Jinwoo's family, and that's his father, Sung Il-Hwan.
The latter has made several appearances in the story, but he has yet to meet Jinwoo. Il-Hwan was last seen in America, where he defeated Hwang Dongsoo. Since then, Sung Il-Hwan has not made any significant contribution. However, there is a good chance that he will be involved in the third season and become Sung Jinwoo's greatest ally.
In the Japan Crisis Arc, Sung Il-Hwan is ordered by the Rulers to travel to Japan to take out his target. Upon reaching the location, Sung Il-Hwan realized that his target was none other than his son, Jinwoo. Sung Il-Hwan refused to hurt his son, risking the wrath of Rulers in the process.
Fortunately, the Rulers decided to change their approach and asked Il-Hwan to protect his son instead. Sung Il-Hwan was overjoyed after learning about his new mission, so he immediately got to work. As previously stated, Sung Jinwoo has made many powerful enemies who want him exterminated at all costs, which is why having Il-Hwan by his side makes all the difference. Whether Sung Jinwoo will meet Il-Hwan in Season 3 depends on how many arcs will be adapted into it. At the moment, it seems likely that Sung Il-Hwan will only receive new orders in Season 3, and the rest will be covered in Season 4.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Is Not Yet Announced
Aniplex Needs To Confirm Solo Leveling Season 3
Almost every arc in Solo Leveling is exciting and full of entertainment, which is why fans can't wait to see the third season of the anime. Sadly, there have been no updates from A-1 Pictures or Aniplex regarding the next installment of the series. Even the recent Aniplex Online Fest didn't include any new updates regarding the anime, so it's unlikely that any fans will receive any news in 2025.

The reason behind the silence is possibly tied to the production. Solo Leveling is an anime of high grade, and producing such titles is always a difficult job. A-1 Pictures has had to work meticulously on the two seasons, and it was due to the hard work that they were so well received. Naturally, the studio wants to keep the momentum going, which is why it doesn't want to rush the production process. Once the studio establishes a proper timeline, only then will it share the details with the audience.
No matter what happens with the production, one thing is for certain: Solo Leveling Season 3 will happen at all costs. Solo Leveling's fame is at an all-time high, and it is still rising. Aniplex can't just stand idly and let one of its most famous titles rot. So, the anime will definitely return in the future. Some reports suggest a 2028 release date, but a 2027 release seems more logical.
