Summary

  • Sung Jin-Woo surpasses S-rank hunters in power pre-Jeju Island.
  • Jin-Woo obtains powerful upgrades post-Jeju Island, becoming Korea's strongest hunter.
  • Jin-Woo's power-ups include a general-grade shadow, physical peak, and readiness to face the architect.

Sung Jin-Woo is set to conquer the world in the upcoming Solo Leveling season 3 as he reaches more levels, acquires more shadows, and obtains more exceptional weapons. At this point, Jin-Woo stands out among the S-rank hunters in the nation, if not the rest of the world, thanks to his incredible feats on Jeju Island. From successfully mutilating the Ant King to death to clearing the dungeon break, the question now is, how much stronger has Jin-Woo become in the post-Jeju Island arc?

While the S-rank hunters struggle to fight the Ant King, the monstrous creature poses no challenge to Sung Jin-Woo at all. With the help of his formidable shadow soldiers, Jin-Woo flawlessly completes the fourth raid without breaking a sweat. His one-sided win over the Ant King propels him to new heights far beyond the reach of a mere S-rank hunter in Solo Leveling.

Sung Jin-Woo's Strength Pre-Jeju Island

His Power-Ups Before the Clash with the Ant King

Prior to the events of the fourth Jeju Island raid, Sung Jin-Woo had already obtained quite a lot of power-ups to stand up against a powerful hunter like Goto Ryuji. Even Baek Yoon-Ho of the White Tiger Guild quickly noticed how different Jin-Woo is compared to the last time he saw him. True enough, Jin-Woo's sparring session with Goto Ryuji confirms Baek Yoon-Ho's speculations, as Korea’s latest S-rank hunter sends shivers down the spine of Japan’s strongest hunter with the sheer power he holds.

Unbeknownst to the elite hunters, Jin-Woo reaches even higher levels after defeating the clone of the Monarch of the White Flames. This allows him to accumulate more stat points, enhancing his abilities even further. In addition, Jin-Woo also acquires a new shadow he calls Kaisel, obtains the S-rank weapon Demon King’s Longsword, and unlocks the shadow exchange job skill, which works as a teleportation ability. What’s more, he also secures the Elixir of Life, a rare item that can cure any kind of illness. And more importantly, Jin-Woo is finally freed from the stress induced by his mother’s disease.

"I'd forgotten. The weak always get taken from. That's how it works here."—Sung Jin-Woo

At this point, the strength of a mere S-rank hunter pales in comparison to Sung Jin-Woo. Even Goto Ryuji feels the need to unleash his full power against Jin-Woo to avoid embarrassing himself further during their fight, but to no avail. In other words, Jin-Woo has grown into Korea’s strongest hunter, surpassing both the Ultimate Weapon, Choi Jong-In, and the White Tiger Guild’s very own, Baek Yoon-Ho.

So, How Much Stronger Is Jin-Woo Post Jeju Island?

The Man of the Hour

Sung Jin-Woo's incredible feat on Jeju Island places him among the ranks of national-level hunters like China’s Liu Zhigang and America’s very own Thomas Andre. However, it's also fair to assume he already possesses strength far greater than these national-level hunters, given his impressive performance in the one-on-one fight with the Ant King. After all, achieving a national-level status requires the extraordinary accomplishment of clearing at least one S-rank gate.

Although Jin-Woo has yet to officially assume the title under his name, many hunters around the world are already looking up to him as a national-level hunter. With the new power-ups he gains from Jeju Island, everyone seems eager to follow his journey, ultimately propelling him to celebrity-level status. Of course, Jin-Woo doesn’t care whether he’s famous or not, but his growing reputation puts Korea on the map as one of the countries with strong hunters again.

"In order to survive, I've learned to keep my eyes open and look for opportunities."—Sung Jin-Woo

Jin-Woo's Essential Power-Ups

Perhaps Sung Jin-Woo's most valuable power-up from the raid is none other than Beru, his first general-grade shadow. Beru’s monstrous strength, ability to communicate in human language, intelligence, not to mention his healing abilities, make him a top-tier asset in Jin-Woo's army. With just a single order, Beru can run errands without fail, fight on Jin-Woo's behalf, and even take part in the decision-making when needed.

More importantly, Jin-Woo also edges closer to his physical peak as Ashborn’s human vessel. Upon reaching level 100, the system invites him to return to the double dungeon, recognizing that Jin-Woo's personal stats are now capable of accepting the Shadow Monarch’s powers. This also means that Jin-Woo is finally ready to face the system’s architect in a one-on-one fight.

"If I don’t kill, I will be killed. I can’t run away anymore."—Sung Jin-Woo

All in all, Sung Jin-Woo is no longer comparable to Korea’s elite hunters after the events that took place on Jeju Island. From this point forward, the only relevant threats to Jin-Woo come from the superior beings and possibly the national-level hunters. As the plot thickens in Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo's ascent to the top continues until he truly becomes the strongest being capable of changing the course of the world and the fate of humanity.
