Indeed, during the Crunchyroll 2025 awards, Solo Leveling Season 1 won the most prestigious title — Anime of the Year 2025. Solo Leveling Season 2 was one of the biggest ones, of course, being so popular that many believe it might deliver another Anime of the Year win for the series next year, during Crunchyroll’s 2026 awards.
There is, however, another, even better, series that aired in 2025 that deserves this title even more, and that anime is none other than Takopi’s Original Sin. Takopi’s Original Sin has ended with 6 episodes, and it was very well received by audiences. It especially stood out with its darker themes. This anime could very well be Solo Leveling’s biggest competition at the moment. After all, its best-rated episode has already surpassed Solo Leveling’s, and its overall ratings among anime fans seem way higher.
Fans will just have to wait and see which anime performs better at next year’s Crunchyroll Awards, and who gets the most votes from both audience and jury.
