Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game in which players must craft to survive — creating weapons, armor, and complex structures — in order to fend off the other cannibalistic inhabitants of a deeply mysterious island. Throughout the game, there are a series of hidden blueprints that enable players to construct advanced equipment and structures for their bases, as well as providing unique functions such as teleportation and resource extraction.
5 Best Psychological Survival Games
Survival in these games is about more than food and shelter, as even your own mind can turn against you.
The blueprints are scattered around the map, though the majority can be found within various caves and abandoned buildings on the western side of the map. An array of new traps and lighting devices have also been added, so players can truly elevate their bases to another level with these upgrades. This guide will detail where to find each blueprint in Sons of the Forest.
Powered Cross Blueprint Location
Found In Cave A On The Northern Coast
- Requirements: 1x Stick, 2x Wire, 9x Light Bulbs
The Powered Cross blueprint will enable players to construct light bulb-studded crosses as a base defense, which will pacify enemies when encountered. The blueprint can be found in "Cave A," also known as the "Rebreather Cave" on the north coast of the island.
Once inside, players should keep to the right and follow the cave on the right-hand side, then turn left once the pathway goes upward. Here, several mutants and upside-down crosses will be visible, along with some kind of fungal birthing sack. Pass by this to the entrance blocked by wooden planks. Smash through the plants and head down the rope into the hole in the ground. Here, the blueprint can be found along with several skeletons and more upside-down crosses.
Glider Launch Blueprint Location
Found In The Mini Cave By The Northeast River
- Requirements: 4x Wire, 4x Turtle Shells, 14x Sticks, 14x Logs
The Glider Launch is used to construct a launchpad for the Glider, enabling players to fly off cliffs and traverse the island in an entirely new way. To the northwest of the island's main mountain, players will see a number of intersecting rivers. Where the rivers join, a cave can be found with several dead workers outside its entrance. It will be necessary to break through some wooden planks in order to gain access.
Once inside, head down past the skeletons and bodies inside and stick to going straight on. While there are pathways leading to the left and upward, the blueprint is to be found deep in the back of the cave near some skeletons.
Gore Chair Blueprint Location
Found In The Southwestern Abandoned Cabins
- Requirements: 1x Wire, 1x Head, 9x Sticks, 2x Creepy Armor, 2x Leg, 1x Light Bulb, 6x Arm
The blueprint for the gore chair can be found in the set of abandoned cabins on the southwestern point of the main island. Simply break down one of the stick entrances to the central building. There, the blueprint can be found on the floor next to an impaled skeleton.
This gruesome decoration makes for an excellent centerpiece in any camp building and is befitting of a murderous, cannibal leader.
While the Gore Chair is largely a decorative item, enemies may still react in the same way that they do to effigies if they encounter it.

Gore Couch Blueprint Location
Found In The Abandoned Cabin On The Mountain
- Requirements: 40x Sticks, 2x Leg, 4x Arm, 14x Creepy Armor
To find the Gore Couch blueprints, players will need to head to the frozen lake on the central mountain, next to which there stands an abandoned wooden shelter. Inside, players can find various useful items, such as batteries and the blueprints themselves.
This will enable players to construct the Gore Couch, a furniture item crafted out of a disgusting amalgamation of body parts. It can add a very menacing look to any base or room in which it is placed, and it can provide a convenient resting point wherever it is built.
Clock Blueprint Location
Found In The Ice Cave Near The Frozen Lake
- Requirements: 1x Wire, 1x Log, 1x Watch, 1x Golf Cart Battery, 22x Sticks, 1x Bone, 2x Arm
The Clock in Sons of the Forest is, as one might expect, not an ordinary clock. Instead, it is constructed from several body parts and miscellaneous items found throughout the game world. However, it can be very useful when planning excursions or tracking the habits of scouting enemies.
To find the blueprint, players need to head up to the Ice Cave near the frozen lake on the central mountain. The entrance can be found near the river flowing westward. Inside, several bodies and coffins can be found, as well as a small cave entrance with a rope leading down. Head down the rope, then follow the next hole down as well to the lowest level. Here, several more coffins and skeletons will be strewn around, with the Clock blueprints next to one of them.
Spear Thrower Blueprint Location
Found In A Cave On The Southern Side Of The Mountain
- Requirements: 3x Wire, 2x Sticks, 2x Logs, 8x Bones, 1x Golf Cart Battery, 3x C4 Bricks.
The Spear Thrower is an excellent tripwire defense that fires out spears at great speed, creating a projectile effect and damaging enemies at long distances. It rates among the best traps in the game, though the ingredients required to construct it are not always in abundant supply.
To find the blueprints, head to the ice cave on the southern side of the mountain near the abandoned camp and glider. Inside, head down to the deepest point where a bunch of skeletons and crates have been left. The Spear Thrower blueprint can be found on the floor underneath the hanging skeleton.
Sons of the Forest Fans Shouldn't Miss Out on Serum
Sons of the Forest's unique detailing gained it lots of fans, and upcoming title Serum follows a similar blend of crafting and tension.
Spotlight Blueprint Location
Found Near The Cliff Faces To The East
- Requirements: 3x Wire, 36x Sticks, 1x Rope, 2x Light Bulb, 1x Tarp
The Spotlight is a lighting accessory for players to use around their bases and can greatly help with defense, particularly at nighttime. To find the blueprints, head to the cliffs near the eastern bay and look for the red flare, which is also marked by a blue question mark on the GPS map.
Upon finding the flare, head into the nearby cave and down the ropes inside. At the bottom, there will be a room with two blocked entrances. One leads to a smaller room with several small items, while the other leads to a larger room. From the larger room, break through the second doorway into the room filled with upside-down skeletons, then descend behind them and take the next rope down. The Spotlight blueprints can be found on top of a small wooden crate in this deep section of the cave.
Spin Trap Blueprint Location
Found In A Cabin Near The Roads On The Northeast Side
- Requirements: 5x Wire, 37x Sticks, 1x Golf Cart Battery, 1x Light Bulb
The Spin Trap is a useful base defense that triggers automatically when cannibals pass nearby and proceeds to whirl two twin-raked spike traps at head height. This can be an excellent trap to place near entryways and chokepoints where enemies are likely to pass.
The blueprints for the Spin Trap can be found in a small cabin on the northeast side of the map. To find the cabin, look for the road passing through two mountainous gray areas on the GPS, heading south towards the small rivers and lakes. There are two cabins in this area next to one another, and the blueprint can be found on a table in the northernmost structure.
Bone Tower Repeller Blueprint Location
Found In A Small Cave Near The Southeastern Lake
- Requirements: 6x Skulls, 49x Bones, 7x Rocks
The Bone Tower Repeller is a powerful base defense that repels enemies — rather than damaging them in the way ordinary traps do. This intimidating structure should be enough to keep most enemies away, in the same way that normal effigies might.
To find the blueprints, head to the small cave in the center of the bending roads near the lake on the southeast side of the island. The entrance can be spotted as it is covered with planks of wood and has two dead workers either side of it, which look abnormal against the rocks. Break through the wooden entrance and head inside to the deeper part of the cave. Inside, the blueprint can be found on top of a blue barrel with several wooden crosses surrounding it.
7 Survival Games Where Crafting Is Key
Crafting is a vital part of many titles, but players will have no hope of survival if they don't craft well in the following survival games.
Grind Trap Blueprint Location
Found In A Cave On The Northwest Side Of The Island
- Requirements: 3x Wire, 1x Skull, 65x Sticks, 1x Golf Cart Battery, 2x Stones, 1x Log, 1x Knight V
The Grind Trap is an absolutely brutal device that catches enemies by the leg and pulls them into a motor-powered meat-grinder made of sticks. While quite costly in terms of materials, it is well worth seeking out this blueprint as it is one of the best defenses in Sons of the Forest.
To find the blueprint, head to "Cave G" on the northwest side of the island, near the abandoned village by the coast. Break through the entrance of the long building and then down through the blocked passage in the floor. This will lead to a cave with two doorways, break through the barred doorway and head down the rope into the caverns below. At the bottom, head through the thinner of the two exits on the left-hand side, and follow the passage upward to the next blocked doorway.
After breaking through that door, follow the rock slopes down until you're faced with another blocked entrance with a cross hanging behind it. Break through here and pass through the cave, then take the next rope down towards the water below. Once at the bottom, the blueprint can be found behind the waterfall on top of a large wooden cross.
Multi Trap Blueprint Location
Found In The Southwest Between The Blue And Orange Markers
- Requirements: 4x Wire, 2x Skull, 2x Vodka Bottle, 14x Sticks, 3x Leaves, 6x Rocks, 1x Golf Cart Battery, 15x Bones, 2x Rope
The Multi Trap is a useful defense that utilizes shock, burn, and kinetic damage to obliterate any enemies that come near it. While it can offer enemies the chance to get an extra hit off, it will stick them to the ground before it closes, which can be especially devastating if multiple enemies are caught inside it at the same time.
The blueprint can be found in a cave by the southeast rivers, around halfway in between the blue and orange map markers. Once inside the cave, use the rope to descend to the bottom level. The blueprint can be found on a table in this lower room.
Leg Lamp Blueprint Location
Found In The Abandoned Basement Near The Southeastern River
- Requirements: 1x Wire, 1x Animal Hide, 16x Sticks, 1x Light Bulb, 1x Leg
The Leg Lamp is a base lighting device that allows players to create lamps out of the severed legs of their enemies. These can be used either indoors or out, but they work particularly well as an interior lighting device for larger rooms.
The blueprints for the Leg Lamp are relatively easy to find. Simply head to the big river flowing from the central mountain on the southeastern side of the map, then look for the blue map marker or red flare nearby. This will lead to a partially constructed wooden building with a basement that can be broken into. Inside the basement/cave, the blueprint can be found on a table with several skeletons laid across it.

Endnight Games' Sons of the Forest is a game where survival is never guaranteed. What are the best weapons in the game?
Item Plating Blueprint Location
Found In A Cave By The Lake To The Northeast
- Requirements: 11x Sticks, 4x Gold Cart Batteries, 7x Stones, 3x Wire, 3x Turtle Shells
The Item Plating structure will enable players to upgrade their weapons and armor with Solafite, leading to an average performance increase of around 30% for each item it is applied to. This can be very useful and even considered essential for facing off against some late-game enemies.
You will require a Rebreather to acquire this blueprint.
The blueprint can be found in a small cave in the northeast of the island, near the lake that drains into the sea. Head down the rope and keep going down into the deepest section of the cave filled with water. A Rebreather will be required to swim through the underwater cave, and at the far end it will emerge into a small cavern full of large rocks.
Behind some of the rocks, a doorway can be found lined with planks of wood. Breaking through here will lead to another cave section in which a skeleton can be found with the blueprints next to it.
Armor Upgrade Blueprint Location
Found By The Gold Door Inside The Luxury Bunker
- Requirements: 4x Wire, 4x Golf Cart Batteries, 1x Skull, 33x Bones, 25x Stones
The Armor Upgrade is a necessary blueprint to obtain in order to complete the game's main story. It will help craft Golden Armor, which is necessary for getting through the Gold Door leading to the Hell Cave in the Luxury Bunker. The bunker can be infiltrated through several entrances, but the easiest one to enter through is on the east coast of the island near the river that leads to the sea.
Inside the bunker, head downstairs to the lowest possible floor, then pass through the surgical-style corridors and the museum area with framed paintings. From here, head through to the private rooms and eventually to the one with a purple curtain at the far end of it. Before reaching the curtain, turn right and pass through the destroyed bathroom. On the other side of the broken steam pipe, the Gold door will be accessible via an adjoining cave.
Solafite Generator Blueprint Location
Found In The Fenced Cave Structure On The Long Western Beach
- Requirements: 11x Skulls, 24x Bones, 10x Stones
Solafite is a powerful but rare resource in Sons of the Forest, so it can help to have the equipment to generate Solafite from anywhere on the map. This device will enable players to do so, thereby improving their weapons, armor, and base in numerous ways at once.
The blueprint can be found by heading to the beach on the western side of the island. Here, a cave can be found with a small fence around it. Head inside until you find the cave with several upside-down skeletons. Past these, there will be a lot of skulls on the floor, and the blueprint can be found there among them.
Sons Of The Forest: Best Traps
Traps are an incredibly handy resource in Sons of the Forest, but some are more useful throughout the game than others.
Teleporter Blueprint Location
Found In A Cave Near The Abandoned Southwest Camp
- Requirements: 8x Skulls, 50x Bones, 33x Stones
The Teleporter is a useful time-saving device, enabling players to fast travel between different points on the map. It can only be used in conjunction with a Sons of the Forest Artifact, enabling players to travel to the active teleporter from anywhere on the map — provided they have the Artifact equipped.
To find the Teleporter blueprints, head to the southwest abandoned camp, then down the central hole with a rope leading down it. At the bottom, a small cave can be found with various items such as ropes and bones lying around. The blueprints are on a rock at the far end of the cave, next to a golden substance and the skeleton of a human sacrifice.
