Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 publisher Focus Entertainment has just released a comprehensive roadmap of everything coming to the co-op shooter in the first half of 2025. With a treasure trove of upcoming content, cosmetics, and quality-of-life improvements, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.

Although Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 lost out to Helldivers 2 at the Game Awards, Saber St. Petersburg’s sequel has earned its place as one of 2024’s most popular multiplayer games. As of January 2025, over 6 million players have taken up the Emperor of Mankind's call to defend the Imperium, and the developers have dedicated themselves to ensuring the live-service multiplayer receives regular new content. Players were treated to the massive Patch 5.0 update in December, which brought the new Obelisk Operation and completely overhauled the gameplay to make melee weapons more viable and fun in combat.

Microsoft Reveals 2024's Best-Selling Xbox Store Games

Microsoft reveals the list of the top 20 best-selling Xbox Store games of 2024, which includes a few somewhat unexpected entries.

Writing on Focus Entertainment’s Focus Together forum, the publisher has shared a new 2025 roadmap sharing vital information on what Space Marine 2 players can expect to see in the coming year. Dropping in February, Patch 6 is scheduled to bring tons of new features to the game. The Datavault update will add a new area to the Battle Barge where players can unlock in-game information via the Research Station. Gamers will also be able to unlock cosmetic rewards using a new currency earned by completing Ordeals, special new challenges that span all Campaign, PvE, and PvP modes.

Everything Included in Space Marine 2's New 2025 Roadmap:

A new PVP arena map, Tomb, will feature frantic close-quarters combat among the narrow subterranean corridors of a haunting Necron tomb. On the surface, the Tyranid Biovore enemy will give PvE players a powerful new foe to overcome, and the new Absolute difficulty setting will offer experienced Space Marines their toughest challenge yet. Season Pass holders will also get access to the Raven Guard Cosmetic Pack featuring the MK VI “Corvus” beaked helmet and trinkets. The Salamanders Champion will also join the fray, offering new skins for the Sniper class Champion and Bolt Sniper Rifle, giving players more options to customize their Space Marine 2 characters. Patch 6 will also introduce a series of quality-of-life improvements including field-of-view sliders.

Players have even more to look forward to later in the year. The developer has promised regular updates every two months and has already teased that Patch 7 will offer a new weapon, PvE prestige ranks, custom PvP lobbies, and a new PvE mission. Space Marine 2’s long-awaited Horde Mode is now forecast for Spring, along with new weapons and maps. Several frequently requested features will also soon be added to the game, such as the ability to toggle crossplay in PvP and to share skins between PvP and PvE character models. Sabre has also confirmed the rumors that Space Marine 2 is adding emotes, meaning players will soon be able to bond with their Battle-Brothers like never before.
