The developer of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has fulfilled their promise by adding official support for ultrawide monitors. To enable this feature, simply navigate to the video menu and change the resolution to your ultrawide resolution, and you’re good to go. However, it's important to note that the HUD will still be displayed in a 16:9 aspect ratio, so the official implementation does come with some limitations.

To put things simply, at launch, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 did not have official ultrawide support, and players with ultrawide monitors would find that black bars were added to the sides of the image when they played. That said, the developer had assured fans that official support for ultrawide resolutions was in the work and that those plans would come to fruition very soon.

Ultrawide support is not the only thing coming that was added via the recently released Update 3. Just as the roadmap stated, the update also added support for private PvP lobbies. That feature should make it possible to play solo Operations missions in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which is sure to be a very exciting addition for some players. Players can now also try out the Sparring Arena, located in the Battle Barge.

To note, previously, players have come up with a "fix" that allows Space Marine 2 to display in ultrawide formats, and a quick search of the game's subreddit or Steam forum will produce it. The fix has not been tested firsthand, though, and it requires bypassing EAC. This means that the fix can only be used when playing Space Marine 2's campaign offline, and players were advised to wait for official support.

While the official support of ultrawide resolutions has been released, the developer didn't include an option to tweak FOV via a slider with it. This is a feature that is of particular interest to players with ultrawide monitors, though it would undoubtedly be appreciated by many players with 16:9 monitors as well. Once again, the aforementioned fix can be used to adjust the FOV when playing the campaign in offline mode, though it is certainly not the ideal solution.
