Insomniac Games has released a fresh update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 that PS5 gamers can download right now. As is typical of Insomniac Games, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launched in an extremely polished state. But while Spider-Man 2 may not have released with all that many glitches, that doesn't mean that the open world superhero game was literally perfect when it released to the masses last month.

There have been various bugs discovered by the Spider-Man 2 community, though Insomniac has been quick to address fan feedback and fix lingering problems. For instance, there was a strange Spider-Man 2 bug that turned characters into a white cube. The bug itself was harmless, but certainly immersion-breaking, and so Insomniac released an update that fixed that particular problem.

The latest update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 squashes more bugs plaguing the game. For instance, there were multiple bugs in Spider-Man 2 where players or important characters could get "stuck" in one way or another, like at the end of The Sandman side quests or during the Galvanize tutorial, that have now been fixed. Other issues like the Charge Jump breaking when assigned to a shortcut, suit errors, character models not loading, and more are all addressed in the latest Spider-Man 2 update.

Spider-Man 2 players can expect more updates to be released for the open world superhero game in the weeks and months ahead. Besides bug fixes, Insomniac has promised a substantial Spider-Man 2 update that will add New Game+ and mission replay features to the game. It's unclear exactly when this update will drop, but it will no doubt inject the game with serious replay value.

Some fans may not be interested in updates like this and may be more concerned with paid DLC. Insomniac has not announced any DLC for Spider-Man 2 at the time of this writing, but there are many directions that DLC in the game could take. The original Spider-Man game had multiple DLC packs, and while it seems many of the villains Spider-Man 2 sets up will be dealt with in a proper sequel, it's also possible that they will be featured in DLC instead.

That's just speculation at this time, though. It's entirely possible that Spider-Man 2 will get DLC similar to its predecessor, but there's also a chance that Insomniac would rather focus on its Wolverine game and the inevitable Spider-Man 3. Fans can download the latest update for the game in the meantime.
