The wait is finally over and Tom Holland's Spidey has swung into theatres with Spider-Man: No Way Home. Before the film premiered in theatres though, Holland and his co-stars were sent on a mission to surprise some hardcore fans of the franchise. It’s safe to say that they handled their great power with great responsibility.
It was already expected that Spider-Man: No Way Home would be breaking box office records for the year, and it has already done more. With the film having been released early in certain regions, it made $10.1 million across the UK and Ireland on just its opening day. It is now expected to become the highest-grossing pandemic movie.
To celebrate the release of the much-awaited film, ComicBook.com organized a special Zoom call with fans of the franchise. What fans weren’t aware of though was that Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon were also a part of the call. As the fans spoke about their passion for Spider-Man content and their love for the character, the No Way Home stars listened in. The fans assumed that they were only talking to the host, and were extremely surprised when the stars popped in.
The funniest moment in the call is when one of the fans, Hannah, is asked which of the three Spider-Men would win in a fight. The nurse, who has been working hard during the pandemic, picks Tobey Maguire's version of Spider-Man. When she sees Holland’s shocked reaction to her statement, things get really awkward and she has to explain herself for picking Maguire over Holland.
Another fan, Laila, starts showing off her epic Spider-Man merchandise collection when she comes face-to-face with the stars. Lauren, who is also on the call, is thrilled that she gets to ask Holland her burning questions. Kordale, on the other hand, has some questions for Peter Parker's pseudo side-kick Ned Leeds and Batalon is ready to answer them.
It is quite endearing to see the love that fans have for the Spider-Man franchise and all its characters. For the past few months, several fan theories have been circulating related to Spider-Man: No Way Home and fans clearly have a lot to talk about. So, it is a treat to watch the stars of the film interact with some of those lucky fans and hear what excites them most.
