Why is there a Salmon Run Schedule?

There are a lot of questions and concerns regarding why Salmon Run is not available at all times, but according to Jordan Amaro, a Nintendo designer, it has to do with a difference in game design by Japanese developers.

According to Jordan, Japanese culture revolves around creating an experience that the developers think is right for their players. Instead of the developers giving players what they want, the developers choose how their target audience should play the game. While a gamer may have purchased the game, Japanese developers believe they know exactly what their target audience wants since they designed and developed the game.

While Japanese developers understand that players might have reservations and show resistance, they believe beyond this phase; players will get to enjoy their offerings. Seeing how Splatoon is an incredibly popular game, it seems as though the strategy actually works.

Splatoon 2 is available on Nintendo Switch.
