  • Splatoon 3 players can use Amiibo for exclusive outfits and gear, enhancing gameplay experience.

Nintendo has revealed a brand-new set of Splatoon 3 Amiibo, with this group of figures being based on the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook idol groups. Nintendo posted pictures of these new Splatoon 3 Amiibo on Twitter, with the characters using their designs as they appeared in the game. The Amiibo will be releasing later this year, in tandem with Splatoon 3's final Splatfest.

Splatoon 3 was first released in 2022, becoming one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch. It is one of the many games that have Amiibo support, with Nintendo releasing several figures based on the franchise. Splatoon 3's Amiibo grant a variety of exclusive outfits when scanned, giving players armor and equipment that fit the post-apocalyptic desertpunk vibe of the main game. Previously released Amiibo like the Callie and Marie figures from the first Splatoon are also compatible with the third game, so players can have legacy outfits as well. The final Splatfest will serve as a bit of a last hurrah for the game and its characters, specifically the older music groups, the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook.

Nintendo revealed these four figures on Twitter, with Callie and Marie's figure set, according to a rough translation, being called Squid Sisters [Alternative]. These two wear the outfits seen in Splatoon 3's story mode. The other figure set for Off the Hook is denoted by its [Side Order] moniker, which dresses Off the Hook in their Side Order DLC outfits. Pearl gets her hip bling and coat, while Marina wears her stylish orange suit jacket. These figures will be released on September 5, which is a little over a week before the game's final Splatfest.

When Will the Splatoon 3 Squid Sisters and Off the Hook Amiibo Release?

  • September 5, 2024

Like the previous figures, Splatoon 3 players can take pictures with the Amiibo in-game, taking commemorative photos, along with getting special gear. Nintendo hasn't revealed what abilities and boosts these figures will provide yet. The reaction to the figures has been incredibly positive, with many excited to own these special versions of the iconic idol groups.

After two years of post-launch content and support, Splatoon 3 is nearing the end of its lifecycle. Rumors of Splatoon 4 being in development have also been prevalent, with the game targeting the Nintendo Switch successor. Since all three idol groups are present in Splatoon 3 and will participate in the final Splatfest, it's possible that Deep Cut will get their own figures based on their costumes shown in the final Splatfest teaser trailer. For the time being, fans are eagerly anticipating the final Splatfest, as well as the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook Amiibo.
