The July 2024 "Summer Nights" Splatfest in Splatoon 3 has concluded, and Team Beach, backed by Deep Cut's Big Man, claimed victory with a score of 410 points. With Team Beach's victory in the latest event, teams backed by Big Man have won every seasonal Splatoon 3 Splatfest since the game's 2022 launch.
Held every one to two months, Splatfests in the Splatoon series are team-based competitions based around specific themes. Taking part in the Splatfests grants players currency to trade for various cosmetic items such as clothing and weapon skins, with the winning team receiving the largest share of the prize. In Splatoon 3, the Splatfests offer players three choices to pick from, with each member of Deep Cut picking a side depending on the theme. Ahead of the Summer Nights Splatfest, players could claim some free cosmetic goodies and see seasonal decorations throughout Splatsville.
Nintendo Fan Allegedly Sent Bomb Threats Because of Splatoon 3
The man accused of calling in 39 bomb threats to Nintendo events reportedly admits to the crimes, blaming them on Splatoon 3.
For the Summer Nights Splatfest, the question "Which would you reserve for a day?" Was posed to Splatoon 3 players. Deep Cut's Shiver sided with Team Palace, while defending Splatfest champion Frye chose Team Theme Park, and Big Man picked Team Beach. Team Theme Park had a halftime Clout lead with 33.86%, followed closely by Team Beach's 33.58% vote, and Team Palace garnered 32.56%. This meant that the Tricolor Turf War mode would be an open competition on the Hagglefish Market map. With first-place finishes in Clout (Open) and Clout (Pro), Team Beach secured 240 of their 410 points, while they finished second in Conch Shells, Votes, and Tricolor for the remaining 170 points. Players can now claim and spend their Super Sea Snails on various prizes.
Splatoon 3 July 2024 Splatfest Results (Which Would You Reserve For A Day?)
- Team Beach (Big Man): 410p
- Team Theme Park (Frye): 310p
- Team Palace (Shiver): 150p
Team Beach finished 100 points ahead of Team Theme Park's 310 points, and Team Palace gained 150 points thanks to a win in Conch Shells and a second-place result in Clout (Pro). In addition, Team Beach's victory continued a pattern for teams supported by Big Man. Given that Splatfests have taken place with the change of real-world seasons, such as the April 2024 Spring Splatfest, teams backed by Big Man have won every seasonal Splatoon 3 Splatfest to date. The victory also gave Big Man his third victory in the current point system. As of Splatoon 3 Patch 7.0.0, second-place finishes in Splatfest categories grant teams half the points of first place, which allows some squads to catch up.
Despite rumors surrounding the development of Splatoon 4, Nintendo has continued to support Splatoon 3 with content updates and Splatfests for players. Only time will tell when the next Splatfest will take place.
